DollarAndADream 3,357
Can He Continue To Succeed? When left winger Zach Parechkin was taken at 1st overall in this past VHL Entry Draft, there begged the question of what kind of player he would turn out to be in the VHL. While he tore up the VHLM, sometimes it takes awhile for players to translate their game into the VHL, where all the best players are. Some players who get the chance to jump right into the VHL out of the draft take awhile to start performing at an adequate level, but within those players who make the jump remains the special ones who can make an impact from the get-go. With a record of 3-7-0 to start the season in the first 10 games, the Toronto Legion have been more competitive against the top teams than analysts have expected. Most of their losses have been close games, and they have not had too tough of a time scoring either. While Zach Parechkin might be doing quite well so far this season, much of that can be projected onto teammate Max Molholt, who had a phenomenal rookie campaign in Season 45, and has been a huge helping hand to Zach making the transition. Max is still one of the better players in the league at the moment, just like last season, and having a talent like that to play with every game is doing Parechkin wonders. There are also veteran talents like Joseph Roy III and Brady Stropko on the Legion to help pave the way to success for last season's Bern Royals MVP, Zach Parechkin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Currently, Zach has seven goals, which is 10th in the VHL and only three behind the league lead at 10 goals. The players who hold that mark are Marcus Hurley, Marcel Faux, and Toronto teammate Max Molholt. Parechkin has the 8th best shot percentage in the league as well with 17.5%, which has obviously been a great help in scoring those goals. Much of Toronto's goal success has been in the skill of their key passers. Right now, Joseph Roy III, World B. Free, and Max Molholt are all top five in the VHL for assists. Zach Parechkin right now is tied for the lead in all left wingers in the VHL, with 16 points. Within those 16 points are seven goals and nine assists. The other players he is tied with in that position are Calgary's Marcus Hurley, and Cologne's Rami Jakobssen. Must be nice to be in that kind of company on the leaderboards. The rookie also has one of the best PP20 (points per 20 minutes) in the VHL with 1.14, currently 8th. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Being a first year player, Parechkin has had the major benefit of being on the top line right away, and playing with skilled teammates. Right now, he is one of the better plus/minus players as well with a +11, which is tied for 3rd in the VHL. While playing on the top line, surprisingly scoring on Parechkin, Molholt, and Roy III has been hard to come by, at least at even strength. Zach has quickly become one of those players who is seemingly reliable in his own end, although one can easily attribute that to the superb defensive mind of Max Molholt. While it has only been a mere 10 games, it will be exciting to see if Zach Parechkin can keep up with these numbers, and possibly win the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy as the league's top rookie. Interestingly enough, the Dollar and a Dream Agency's only other player, Travis Boychuk, won that trophy himself, so that would be a notable achievement to have on their resumé. Phil 5,133
Content: 3/3 - Good, solid read about the great season for Parechkin's career! Toronto have it set up right, with 2 players and an inactive on the top line. That makes for absolutely rape in the sim, as Knight hypothesized and then proofed in Davos was Smalling and Rafter. The point production coming from Toronto is absurb at the moment. Keep it up! Grammar: 2/2 - One this this week!- it takes awhile = it takes a while Appearance: 1/1 - Always presentable! Overall: 6/6 DollarAndADream 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/25542-claimedparechkin-status-quo-final-66/#findComment-287445 Share on other sites
