2015-2016 NHL All-Star Game

So amigos. The rules of the new NHL All-Star Format have arrived. Basically it's a 4 team tournament with the Metropolitan playing the Atlantic, and the Pacific playing the Central division. So I ask you, who do you include on each squad. Keep in mind that each team has to be represented with one player but their are 40 spots (10 each team). So some teams will have 2-3 if they are excelling. Without showing bias try to come up with it because so far TSN and Sportsnet have absolutely bombed their picks.

Also I raise another question. How many of you grew up liking the old formats. I grew up seeing both conferences best players duke it out, a legends game featuring players of the past and a young stars game. To my knowledge they only do the skills competition and the all-star game now. I remember watching the young stars game when Scott Gomez, Alex Edler, Steven Valiquette and others were in it. They don't always go on to stardom but why doesn't the NHL excite their younger audience by giving them a glimpse of the future? I mean can you imagine seeing guys like Eichel, McCann, Domi, Pareyko, Panarin, Larkin, Lindberg and Ehlers going at it.

Atlantic Division:
Forwards:

1. David Krejci (BOS) - Really best player on Bruins this year
2. Ryan O'Reilly (BUF) - Argued between him and Eichel. Since he has more points and plays better defensively he gets the nod for me.
3. Jaromir Jagr (FLA) - Most points on FLA. How can you not include Jagr?
4. Henrik Zetterberg (DET) - Been there best player in the absence of Datsyuk, DET would be nothing without him stepping up.
5. Tyler Bozak (TOR) - I mean you have to choose a Leafs right?
6. Max Pacioretty (MTL) - Most goals in Atlantic Division ATM. He's been doing great despite recent slump.

Defenseman:
1. Erik Karlsson (OTT) - he's a lock
2. P.K Subban (MTL) - he's a lock
3. Victor Hedman (TB) - he has to be on there, playing great despite Lightning not playing great,

Goalies:
1. Roberto Luongo (FLA) - Leads Atlantic Division in save percentage. Min. 10 games played
2. Carey Price (MTL) - Leads Atlantic Division in save percentage with 9 GP :P

Central Division:
Forwards:

1. Tyler Seguin (DAL) - hes a lock
2. Jamie Benn (DAL) - hes a lock
3. Patrick Kane (CHI) - hes a lock
4. Artemi Parinen (CHI) - lock due to the fact he plays with Kane
5. Vladimir Tarsenko (STL) - he needs to be there. 12 goals in 19 games.
6. Nathan MacKinnon (COL) - Carrying this team on his back

Defenseman:
1. John Klingberg (DAL) - Has that chemistry with Benn and Seguin. 22 points as well
2. Ryan Suter (MIN) - has 30 shifts per game. 27 minutes per night not to mention 16 points. hes so underated.
3. Dustin Byfuglien (WPG) - Big buff. here for the hardest shot competion i guess lol. 10 points. +7 not to bad.

Goalies:
1. Pekka Rinne (NSH) - 10-2-3 record. .923 save percentage. He's a lock
2. Corey Crawford (CHI) - 9-5-1 record. .918 save percentage. gets knocked for being on chicago but that save percentage doesnt lie. 2 SO as well

Metropolitan:
Forwards:

1. John Tavares (NYI) - Best player on Islanders
2. Ryan Johansen (CBJ) - Best player on the Jackets
3. Claude Giroux (PHI) - Is now the best performing player this season by default as Streit is hurt
4. Evgeni Malkin (PIT) - Hes a lock
5. Alexander Ovechkin (WSH) - hes a lock
6. Mike Cammallieri (NJ) - I think he's played his way on tbh. so far. hes been the Cammy of old and is tied for most points in division.
Defenseman:
1. Justin Faulk (CAR) - 25 minutes a game. 12 points. bad team needs one player.
2. Kristopher Letang (PIT) - very underrated this year. 26 minutes a night, not just a PP specialist anymore. 11 points
3. John Carlson (WSH) - would put Mark Streit as my PHI player here but hes hurt so Carlson gets the nod instead. leading Metro defenseman point getter.
Goalies:
1. Henrik Lundqvist (NYR) - 10-3-2 record. .946 save percentage. hes a lock
2. Cory Schneider (NJ) - 9-5-1 record. .26 save percntage. playing on a bad team.

Pacific:
Forwards:

1. Taylor Hall (EDM) - 21 points. most in Pacific. plus we need an Oiler.
2. Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) - bright spot on the Colorado Avalanche 2.0.
3. Daniel Sedin (VAN) - need a canuck and you cant take one without the other can you?
4. Henrik Sedin (VAN) - need a canuck and you cant take one without the other can you?
5. Joe Pavelski (SJ) - 10 goals. 18 points
6. Max Domi (ARI) - jump on the rookie bandwagon we're going to the all-star game
Defenseman:
1. Sami Vatanen (ANA) - I think hes been the best Duck this year. so hes on for being the best duck
2. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) - He's the next Lidstrom, or the closest we will ever get. Hes great and deserves to be on
3. Drew Doughty (LA) - +5, 3rd most points takes 33 shifts per game. Talk about workhorse. All-star for sure
Goalies:
1. Martin Jones (SJ) - has the best save percentage, most wins as well.
2. Jonathan Quick (LA) - same as the above but in 2nd place

My list as of today. Will come back nearer to the All-star game. maybe month by month. who know.
