The Seattle Bears shocked the world in Season 43 with a Continental Cup Championship.  The unexpected cup ended a long winless streak dating back to Season 28.  The win finally ended the second longest drought behind only Stockholm (Vasteras).  In the time leading up to the cup win and the time since the franchise hasn’t been very good.  In fact the team as a whole has been pretty bad since the early seasons when it won back to back cups.  With some semblance of stability and a few seasons rebuilding this franchise could finally see some changes for the better.

Forwards

S41 - Jakub Rhinehart

Rhinehart will never be considered a VHL superstar or be talked about in terms of former great players.  He will however be forever remembered as one of the most dedicated Seattle Bears’ players in franchise history.  This dedicated depth winger has taken pay cuts and refused to take larger contracts elsewhere in free agency.  Despite numerous teams interested in bringing him aboard to winning programs and potential Continental Cup Victories he still remains a Bear for life.

S46 – Shawn Muller

Shawn Muller has young kids around Seattle excited and old men hoping for a return to winning days.  He is a top end prospect ready to make the jump to the VHL in Season 47.  Muller is a two-way forward that plays sound defense and creates offensive opportunities on the counter attack.  For such a young age he shows great patience on the ice and has an unexpected knowledge of the game.  Expect to see him on the Ballot for Top Rookie and possibly the Boulet next season.

S46 – Niels Skovgaard

Skovaard is another great forward prospect that excels more so offensively than Muller at the expense of physicality and defense.  Niels has more of a superstar mentality and kids hope to grow up and play like him someday with the flashy moves.  Another likely candidate for Rookie of the Year expect Skovgaard to become a household name by the end of Season 47.

S45 - Jace Hines

Jace Hines is very similar in play style to Niels Skovgaard whom we previously mentioned.  These two will fight all season for first line minutes as Hines is having a fairly productive rookie season with Seattle.  In 57 games this season Hines has scored twenty-two goals and 40 points.  That is good enough for third in the league for rookies.  Scouts say he doesn’t have the same top end prospect talent as others but he is expected to be a good second line winger.

S46 – Jory Rose

In the Season 46 Jory Rose fell down further than many predicted.  He also went higher than many other analysts predicted.  That was the uncertainty behind Rose heading into the draft.  Now nearly a season in he is showing the potential that many saw within.  He will be making the move up to Seattle for Season 47 and may earn the starting job.  Rose brings playmaking ability that most of the other Seattle prospects lack.  He is one of the few special players who can make those around him play better.

S45 – Maxime Deschamps

Lastly but not necessarily not least is Maxime Deschamps a physical enforcer who prefers a control style game.  He doesn’t often crack the top three star lists or score the game winning goal but he is a crucial player that every team needs.  Deschamps sets the tone for the rest of his team and can provide a much needed spark of energy when the team is down.  When the team needs some retribution to start a fight Maxime is always at the center.  Seattle hopes he can make the jump to the VHL next season.
