I just finished my third regular season in VHL. It was a rather good one on a personal level, in 72 games, I managed to score 31 goals and on top of that, I had 39 assists. That is 70 points in 72 games. Almost point per game, but not quite. Plus/minus was on the plus side, +/- was +13. Overall not as good as the last season on the scoring department, but I did manage to break my hitting record ! 232 hits is what I collected during the regular season this year.   
Aiming to keep on going and hopefully I break more personal records during the next season. I´m not spending too much time thinking about the next season. Everything and everybody is getting ready for the playoffs of course! 

 

New York Americans had almost perfect regular season, 72 games and 52 wins. That was enough to earn second place in the whole league!  Only the Titans managed to collect more points in 72 games, Titans had 114 while Americans finished the season with 108. Only three teams collected over 100 points, third place goes to the Reign with 104 points. Wranglers came close with 99, but they are left out of the cool guys club this year. 

 

Playoffs are always interesting since anything can happen. Hard to say who is the biggest favorite to win it all this year, but it would be a surprise if someone out of the Top-4 wins the cup.
I´m of course doing my all to make sure that Americans win it. That would be my first time winning the whole thing during my career. I feel that this year might be the year when we do it. The whole team has played really well lately. Americans ended the regular season on 10 game winning streak! That of course raised the whole team into another level. Everybody feeling great at the moment, lots of smiling and high-fiving going on in the locker room. 

 

 

 

Perhaps the most important thing I have done to get ready for the playoffs is of course making sure that my playoff beard grows nicely! I have been eating all my vitamins and sleeping solid 8 hours each night. I must admit that it´s growing nicely! Not sure what I´m going to do with it, do I trim it little bit? or perhaps even shave it off ? Might shave part of it off and only leave a mustache? I have heard that ladies love mustaches. I´m a single man so in perfect world Americans win and I get a new girlfriend! That would be nice.  We shall see though, would like the Americans to win more than I want a female in my life.

 

 

One thing is for sure though, the playoffs truly are the best time to be a professional athlete.
