Lloyd Light also an upcoming free agent

After sweeping the Toronto Legion, the Calgary Wranglers move on to face the New York Americans in the North American finals. While the playoffs continue, defenseman Lloyd Light of the Wranglers has his upcoming free agency on his mind. With Season 47 being his last, the number one goal between now and the end of next season is to win. For Calgary, winning this season will take the pressure off of Light to sign with the team that gives him the best shot at winning, which may or may not be the Wranglers. Winning with the Wranglers might also increase his satisfaction with Calgary and the time he will have spent with the team, giving them an edge when it comes to signing him for one more year.

He joins the likes of Jerrick Poole and Edwin Reencarnacion (and maybe others), who have spoken about their upcoming status as free agents. Poole, a former teammates with the Vikings before Light was traded to Calgary, also has just one more season in his career. Reencarnacion, who Light will face in the upcoming series against New York, is one of the best young studs in the VHL. He will just be entering his prime next season, so if a team can entice him to sign a multi-year deal, it could be a huge addition.
