DollarAndADream 3,356
All-Star Game: Zach Parechkin - An Interview With the VHL All-Star Game approaching, the players were announced in which would be on the roster. For the second season in a row, and only his second season in the VHL, Toronto Legion forward Zach Parechkin was selected to take part in the big game. Alongside Zach is his teammate Max Molholt, who is also a player with multiple appearances. The interesting thing about the All-Star Game this time around, is that like the NHL, teams have captains who have chosen their roster in a draft. This means that same conference players will be playing on separate teams, unlike previously when they were conference teams. Max Molholt and Zach Parechkin for example will not be playing alongside each other, so it will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry all of these players can find with people from other teams and conferences. Zach Parechkin will be playing with the likes of talents such as Thomas O'Malley, Lloyd Light, Edwin Reencarnacion, and more. ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- With all of this being stated, we recently caught up with Zach Parechkin for an interview about his second All-Star appearance. ---------------------------------------- Interviewer: So, what are your thoughts on being selected for the All-Star Game in both your rookie and sophomore seasons? ZP: It's a great honor to have been selected. I would not have been able to do it without my teammate Max Molholt though. If he were not around to help propel my career forward, I think it might have taken me a couple of seasons to get into full swing with point production in the VHL. It's great to be able to go out there on centre stage for all to see. ---------------------------------------- Interviewer: What players are you hoping to play with at the All-Star Game, for Team Sterling? ZP: It will be amazing to be able to play alongside Thomas O'Malley, obviously. I think every player would like to do that. Lines are not set yet though, and I somewhat doubt I'll be out there on Line 1. There's a ton of talent on my team. One player I'm excited to likely play with is HC Davos player Simon Valmount. He's had a buzz around the league and is one of the VHL's big hitters like myself, so it will be interesting to see what kind of crashing and banging we can do if we're both out there at the same time. Playing with Mason Richardson will be fun as well, as he is one of the reasons that my agent has me in the VHL at all. ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Interviewer: Do you have any words for your team captain, Jeff Hamilton? ZP: I'm thrilled to have been selected by him for his team, even though he gave Phil plenty of chance to take me as well. *chuckles* Him and I were both out of the same draft, and we're friendly with each other so I think it will be great to see what kind of things we can do on the ice together. The Hamilton's are a special breed. ---------------------------------------- Interviewer: Any player on Team Phil that you're not excited to play against? ZP: It will not be the most fun to be playing against both Koenig and Karnage I suppose. They bring a ton of talent as two top players, so if I'm on the ice against them it will not be the best time from a defensive point of view. I also know what Max Molholt is capable of out there on the ice, having played with him game after game. I'm not looking forward to getting on the bad end of his dekes, but I think it will be a thrill to be able to see what it's like from another point of view while facing him. ---------------------------------------- That does it for our interview with Zach Parechkin. The All-Star Game is coming up real soon, so be sure to tune into it. Da Trifecta 1,899
Parechkin is going into quite the stud player. Being able to team up with Molholt is pretty awesome as not a lot of teams have multiple players. Playing against the top TPE guys can be fun but at the same time not really. It all depends on how you look at it. One final hurrah for O'Malley the alley cat. Let's hope he gets to enjoy it with some solid stats. Best of luck at the all-star game and hopefully you show up on the stat sheet.
