With the VHL Trade Deadline approaching, it seems that there were a lot of moves being planned around the league. HC Davos started a build towards their future when they traded Freedom McJustice and Oskar Harumphs away to other teams. Was there another team in the European conference looking to get a head-start on the rebuild though?

The Riga Reign have been making an effort at playoff runs for two seasons now, with a third run soon to come. With a struggle through the regular season so far, it's possible that the Reign were talking trades early on.

Rumors circulated the league that Hans Wingate was put on the block once again before an off-season in which he's set to test the free agency market, in hopes the Reign could get something in return for Wingate, who they just acquired the season prior.

After rumblings through the market though it seems that the team decided to step back from talks and get back on competing after the market wasn't there for retiring players like Hunter, Richardson, and Poole.

So, Riga will press on to take on the Titans, who are clear favourites to win it all once again. Will the Reign be able to start a proper rebuild in the off-season when they lose majority of their pieces though?
