jRuutu 2,464 Posted February 13, 2016 Share Posted February 13, 2016 I want to start this whole thing by saying that I just absolutely love hockey. I think it´s the best sport in the world. I do follow other sports, but something about hockey makes it number one for me. I think my love for hockey greatly influenced my career decision and at the moment I´m in my dream job. I get to write articles to Hockey Daily magazine and to make that happen, I need to watch hockey and talk to people in the hockey world. That is pretty cool and quite close to a perfect job for someone like me. I decided to do something different this week and went to see my old friend in New York. He is a professional hockey player and has done interviews with me in the past here, it´s Jorma Ruutu from the New York Americans! I asked few questions from him and this is what happened.. Dave: Hello Jorma! Do you remember me? JR: Of course! It´s been a while though, how´s it going? Dave: All good, thanks for asking. What about you? Season going nicely? JR: Same old, same old really. I´m having a great season though. Team is playing really well and we have a real change to win the cup this year! On top of that, I have scored the most goals in one season already and there is still games left on the regular season so yeah, things going quite nicely! Dave: Nice to hear that, I came here to ask few questions and hopefully you can answer them? JR: Yep, I can at least try Dave: What it´s like to be a captain for a hockey team? JR: It´s great, at first it felt bit weird, but me being on the same team for so long made it easy in the end. Now I´m already super excited to wear that C on my jersey. Would be a dream come true if we win the cup and I get to lift the trophy in front of our fans. I cant even imagine what that its like, so much work for that one moment. I must stay focused and make sure that everybody in the team remain focused as well. We just need to keep on going, one game at a time and if we perform like I know we can, we are going to bring home the cup this year ! Dave: That is awesome! I really hope you guys win it, did you know that NY Americans is actually my favorite team? JR: Did not know that, well I did not know you were a reporter until I saw your interview with me on the papers for the first time so, everything is possible. I´m glad you are on our side. Make sure to write nice things about the team! Dave: Oh for sure. You know what, I actually need to get going, I forgot that I have a yoga class in 40 mins. JR: Damn, you take yoga classes? That is.. nice. Well, Ok then.. Thanks Dave, hopefully we can see more often in the future.
