STZ 5,360
Unassisted Rookie Profile Draft Position: 2nd Overall S48 Drafted Team: Quebec City Meute Projected: 1st Line Center Style: Playmaking Two-Way Grinder This is the Scouting Report on the 2nd Overall Draft pick by the Quebec City Meute, Unassisted. His birth name is Ty Tucker, but at the age of 18 he legally changed his name to Unassisted. He is projected to be a top player in the league, and should one day step into a leadership role at the VHL level, and has the qualities of a person who could lead a team to the ultimate success. He has been the focus of many GM’s leading up to the draft, but there was only one who decided to pass up on his services. While there was not a need for a center in Quebec City, the feeling from management was that this is a no-miss prospect that only comes around once in a generation. Whether or not he will see his potential is always the ultimate question, but here is our projections and scouting report on the AAA forward prospect. + Playmaking Ability First and foremost Unassisted’s top quality is his playmaking ability. His ability to create something out of nothing is world class, and could more than likely jump into the Power Play of any current VHL team. He has an above average shot, elite skating ability, and very good vision and hockey sense. He is projected to be a future scoring leader. + Defensive Awareness In this day in age, it seems as though you have to be able to play both sides of the puck. The reason Unassisted was the top forward selected in the draft is that his Defensive abilities are his strength. He’s a hard working player that doesn’t give up on plays. He has a great ability of stripping the puck off players and using his speed to create chances the other way. As a center he could be put in a number of different situations. + Low Center of Gravity; Grit Grinding Unassisted may not be the tallest, but he makes up in that grit grinding low center of gravity. While he isn’t the most physical player, he never gives up on a play, and on many nights will get smashed multiple times by hits - regardless, he will continue to grind. - Faceoffs Unassisted needs to make this a focus on his development. He is not quite at the VHL level of standard for the faceoff dot, but is is mainly due to his low level of strength. In time as this prospect matures, it is not doubt going to be an improving attribute. However, right now you will see a number of VHL centers overpower Unassisted when squaring off for a faceoff. - Aggressiveness He is a grinder, but there is a level of aggressiveness that isn’t quite in his game yet. While he will make an occasional hit to engage in a play, he does it like it’s business not pleasure. Many scouts have said he might be a little better in the corners if he took it a little more personal. The compete level is there, but there’s a switch that hasn’t been flipped when getting under this player’s skin. - Appetite and Diet Unassisted has been known to kill a whole wheel and smash some pops with the boys on an off day. While he seems to follow in the footsteps of #93, and have big games after a night out, this fear of the night life has scared some GM’s off. His bar play is on point, but it has not been without a few last minute cab rides to the rink after a hard gritty night out. evrydayimbyfuglien 600
Looks good. I only noticed one error here: On 3/7/2016 at 10:24 PM, STZ said: it is not doubt going to be an improving attribute. should probably be "no doubt" and this whole phrase seems like it could be worded differently. The overall profile was thorough and hit on the 3 negatives and positives well enough. It gives a very clear idea of what type of player this could be. Whether or not it comes to fruition, though, is a question for later down the road. Best of luck this year. I'm not sure what else to say when reviewing a Rookie Profile other than "good job" so good job and keep up the writing. You'll be a superstar in the VHL very soon. I look forward to seeing what we can do together in QC.
