I sadly have not put one bit of effort into following the world cup, as I have not looked at a single game thread or the standings, and I probably barely know what all the teams are. I think this happened because I have been so caught up in other offseason stuff, such as free agency and the draft grabbing my attention, along with all of my VHLM commish duties. Also, due to some garbage rule TebowGow was not allowed to participate in the world cup, and if I don't have a player in the tournament my care level is pretty much zero. But, this article will be about the world cup because I want the extra tpe, so I guess it's time for me to look at the index and find a few random points to give my opinion on. Also, I believe the opening ceremony took place during the VHL draft, so obviously most people were going to be focused on the draft. Lastly, thank you World cup commies whoever you are for taking on this task. Pre Tournament Power Rankings Streetlight posted some pre-tournament power rankings, so I am going to assume he is the commish of the world cup. Shockingly, the power rankings had team USA in last, which he says is because Murica doesn't have a goalie or many players. Luckily, there are some prospects coming up for Murica including myself but we will need a goalie soon. Also shocking is that Canada was ranked at 4, as Canada and USA are pretty much always the top two teams. Europe holds the top spot in the ranking and apparently is going for their third win in a row, and should probably get it as they have WinGod and the Knight brothers. How is the Tournament Going so Far Team Canada is in first so far with 20 points, but Team World and Europe are right behind them with 19 points. I am proud of Canada for showing Europe who the real slim shady is, because Canada is at least in North America and somewhat related to Murica then. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is just the regular season part of the world cup I believe, so all that matters right now is playoff seeding. Looking at some of the individual leaders, Lord Karnage is stat padding same as always as he leads the tournament with 9 goals in 10 games, though my boy Ruutu also has 9 goals so good job to him, hopefully he defeats Karnage in this conquest so Boubabi can never win an award. Speaking of Ruutu, he leads the tournament with 18 points so great work by him. Also, I would like to point out that Biggu Kyanon has more points than Phil Hamilton, proving that Phil is not good enough to ever be the best defender because he is a scrub. Looking at goalies, Sandro Clegane is doing great for Team Mercenaries with a tournament leading 0.935 save percentage. Marcel Faux is the one player with an empty net goal so I think he should win MVP of the tournament. I hope you enjoyed this read and have yourself a great day.
