He's A Lone Wolf: Sven Wolf Bio

One word... "Sweden"

Sven Wolf lived his entire young life in the heart of Sweden's Capital and the most populous city in the Nordic nations. There, he lived in a suburban area, in a 3 level house that almost tokk up an entire block with the backyard looking right off onto the Baltic sea. If you hadn't caught on, Wolf came from a family of wealth and that wealth played a significant role in his years and teen years that would lead to shape him in the young man he's becoming. Wolf's parents were major investors in Sweden and worked for one of the most well known investing companies throughout Sweden. While spending most of their hours away from home stuck in the office, their time of absence and lack of presence in their children's lives was made up for with materialistic items, fancy clothes and a live of lavish living. Sven, along with his brother (1 year young) and sister (1 year older), all attended the Stockholm School of Arts, which specialized in all sorts of fields. His sister and brother focused their time on their law degrees and played on the hockey team on the side, while Sven strictly went to sharpen his skills at the game on ice.

 

As a young kid, it was no surprise that the neighbor's would come out on any given day of the week and young Sven would already be out their skating circles on their backyard rink, shooting the puck in the net, or shoveling the snow off the surface. Each day, before the sun even managed to awake, Sven was full force on the ice in pursuit to become the best. Ever sine his first Swedish Elite Hockey game he went to see with his father as a young boy, it's been his goal to pursue a career in hockey. With so many professional leagues out there, most would have troubles making up their mind but his heart was set on one specifically - the VHL. Due to his large goal and the limited chance of making it to the big leagues, Sven wasted no time in trying to reach his goal. Whether it be hockey practice, league games or shiny on his rink with his buddies, there was very few moments where he didn't have his feet moving on ice.

At the age of 2, he laced his first pair up and by 4 he was entered into his first league. By the age of 12, his name had been catching wind and a video had been uploaded to YouTube of this "Young Swedish Boy Wrecking Goalie" and received 300,000 views in 24 hours. A few short years later and a couple videos to go along with them, Wolf was noticed by junior scouts and picked up by the Swedish Elite League's Stockholm Vikings junior team. As a 15 year old, this is an astonishing accomplishment, especially considering he was drafted 6th overall among players much older and bigger. During his rookie campaign of 62 games, he appeared in 56 games, scored 23 goals and managed to pass the puck 57 times for a point total of 80. He finished 5th in the league for points and was immediately labelled as one of the most pure playmakers of the generation.

 

Those who labelled him that, those who said "hey, this kid is going to be something people on the shitters talk about", knew exactly what they were talking about and they were right. In his sophomore year, Wolf did exactly what a lot of people thought and became the best player in the Swedish Elite Junior League at only 6 years old. Now a steal when you look back to him being drafted 6th overall, he led his team to a first place finish and led himself to another 1st place finish on the scoring sheets. With 21 goals, 63 assists for a total of 94 points in 61 games, Sven Wolf showed his dominating offensive presence on the ice and caught the eyes of every entire scout in the Swedish Elite Professional League. After carrying his team on his back and the playoffs, he hoisted the cup and got his first taste at being a champion.

The following summer was spent doing what he did everyday, no matter the season. The grass could be green of covered in snow, his life revolved around hockey and making himself into the most elite prospect to come from Sweden. After 2 months of hard work, it was time for the SEL Pro draft and Wolf's name was called first overall Vestaras Icemen. This season, Wolf would get his first taste of professional hockey and would be a good indicator of what's to come in his career. Although above skill when it came to most players, the playing fields were essentially equal and the mountain he had to climb this season was much larger than last. Despite the doubt and build up of impossibility by the media, those who once again believed in Wolf laughed their asses off all the way to the finish line. In his rookie season in the Swedish professional league, he aced the year and once again took home the most offensive player award. With 17 goals, 69 assists and 86 points in a full 56 game season, he officially established himself as one of the hottest, most elite prospects. Best part, he earned a no return flight to North America to attend the VHLM draft where he was told his chances of making the VHL are slowly coming more and more into reality. 

 

The lights dimmed, the stage light appeared on the VHLM commissioner and it was time to start the S49 VHLM entry draft. As time slowly passed, name by name, players left the crowd, hugged their parents and walk up to the stage to shake the hand of their new organizations GM.  Players like Diana Maxwell, Thor Odinsson and Asher Donovan, walked beside Wolf as they went up on the stage. As each name was called, Sven's heart raced with excitement and nervousness as he wondered which team would be confident enough to trust him by calling his name. Finally, 11th overall and with their 3rd pick of the draft so far, Wolf walked up onto the stage, shook the GM's hand and was now smiling for pictures wearing a Brampton Blades jersey. 

 

 

Where his career next, nobody knows but one thing we do know is that he is going to be a force to reckon with. The lone wolf will take the VHLM by storm and show them by the Swedish Elite League opponents circled their game days against his team. Not so much for fear, but because each time they played Wolf, they knew there was going to be some magic on the ice!

great article, im excited to see Sven Wolf 2.0. im not sure if saying that people will be talking about you on the toilet is a compliment, but hey whatever works! cant believe you fell to 11th, people must have forgotten about you haha!
