                (3-2-1)                                  (3-3-0)

Here we go guys, this is the win or go home game back in Calgary, Alberta. Both teams previously won Game 5 and 6 with both winning the home games, so Calgary seems to have the upper hand here. However will all go as planned with Calgary winning?

Game 7: Calgary Wranglers 4 New York Americans 2

Unfortunately, the ride would end here for the Americans after a 4-2 loss in Calgary. It started out really good for the Americans too when Zlatan Zanetti (2 G, 7 A) opened the scoring 7 minutes into the game. Nicholas Evans (4 G, 4 A) and Rocky Stork (5 A) got the assists. At 8 minutes and 37 seconds, J.D Stormwall (4 G, 5 A) scored his 4th goal of the series. Juha Ikonen (1 G, 3 A) and Jardy Bunclewirth (1 G, 4 A) got the assists on the goal. 40 seconds after the Wranglers 1st goal was scored, J.D Stormwall (5 G, 5 A) scored again! Jardy Bunclewirth (1 G, 5 A) got the lone assist. After what seemed to be a dream start for New York, quickly turned into a nightmare. New York out shot Calgary 14-12 in the first period.

The 2nd period was more of a war of attrition as both teams hit hard, shot a lot of pucks on net and yet only 1 team scored. Lee Classified(2 G) scored at the 15 minute mark with Keyvan Kljk (3 G, 5 A) and Patrick Bergqvist (2 G, 5 A) getting the assists. The 2nd period shot totals were 18-11 for New York, with the game total shot totals being 32-23 for New York.

The 3rd period was the beginning of the end for New York when Alexander Sauve (1 G, 8 A) scored just 2 minutes into the period giving Calgary a 3-2 lead. Mikka Virkkunen (4 G, 2 A) got the lone assist. Halfway through the period, Matthew Gunnarsson (1 G, 6 A) scored his 1st goal of the playoff for the icing on the cake for Calgary as it sealed the series win. Mikka Virkkunen (4 G, 3 A) and Alexander Sauve (1 G, 9 A) were the men with the assists. The 3rd period shot totals were 17-16 for New York and the game total was 49-39 for New York. Alex Young (3-3-1, 220/244, .902 SV%, 1 SO, 1 A) stopped 35 of 39 shots. Demetrijusz Dudek (4-3, 234/256, .914 SV%) made 47 saves on 49 shots. J.D Stormwall, Alexander Sauve and Demetrjusz Dudek were 1st, 2nd and 3rd stars respectively.

The Calgary Wranglers would go on to face the winner out of the Madrid Thunder and Riga Reign playoff series. A series we will get to next week. Stay tuned for a VHL article, that will give you a peak at the Excel Spreadsheet I have going with a barebones stats page with playoffs stats and playoff stats versus a team EX. Sauve 10 points in his playoff career so far and 10 points VS New York. Until next week guys, I will enjoy my 6 TPE.

Review:

Another great article in this series. Might get a little stale continuously doing these though. Maybe break it up with something else before doing the next series.

Have no complaints with grammar or spelling that I noticed.
