After a forced code of silence by his player agent, Ryan Power Skylar Rift has not spoken during the entire 35th season. A season which saw his Quebec City Muete take the top spot in the league in both the regular season and the playoffs. The season was capped for Rift with a Shaw trophy for the top goaltender and a Kanou trophy for the Playoff MVP. After a season long silence Rift was finally given permission to speak prior the start of the 36th season. The following is what he had to say.

"I'm really excited to get back out on the ice. We are maybe missing one more piece on our roster from being a serious threat to win back to back Cups. Our team had a great year last season. We look to have another one this upcoming season. We have tons of depth guys that I know are ready to make that next jump and become real threats in this league. Despite the effort last season some of our players have understood the need to make improvements and adjustments. It wasn't all amazing and I know a player like Alexander Valiq is going to do a lot more damage this season and playoffs than last year. In regards to our fantastic season and playoff run, I'm just happy for my teammates. The player agents of both Wesley Kellinger and Tomas Valiq haven't tasted success yet and it was good to make that happen. I know both of those two very well and they put a lot of pressure on themselves to win a Cup and do it fast. They did that. It was nice to give Larrsson one last bit of glory before he retired and moved on as well. All the best to him and his family."

While at first glance it would appear as if Rift had changed his tune. That the resident Two-Face had grown up and evolved into a more humble and well spoken player, Rift wasn't finished, as he left the media with a few of his old gems.

"Although I will say that the boys in that locker room are lucky that I am here. I mean playoff MVP, best goalie in the league? Can you just imagine how long that "Kyle" curse would of gone off if it weren't for me? Ha! But it's okay. I'm what they call the "ideal" team player. I don't mind being the sole and main reason why anyone around this league wins anything."

With his final words we got a glimpse of the old Rift, and player agent Ryan Power announced after the fact that Rift would once again be forbidden from speaking with media in Season 36. Power was obviously hoping that some time away from the spot light of media would help mature Rift, but at this point it appears as if Power is perfectly fine trying to play damage control and prevent Skylar from putting his foot in his mouth.
