Evans 305
Free Agency is something that every player wants to experience at some point in their careers to help justify their worth. When apart of a team, it can start to feel like you are just a spoke on the wheel and nothing more. You tend to lose some of your identity and become part of a system that doesn't always fit what you need or want. You hate it, but you do it because you owe it to your teammates and the guys that had faith in you from your first professional game. When that contract runs out though.....things change. Have they changed enough for Titan Kronos to consider signing somewhere else? Quote I knew from the beginning of my career that I wanted to experience the thrill of being a free agent when my first contract ran out. Being wined and dined by other teams is kind of cool and allows you to see where a player like you stands in the hierarchy of the league. When my contract officially expired, I didn't anticipate many calls. Riga contacted me and another team did as well. I decided to not respond and go to bed for the night to address some things in the morning. I woke up with 25 missed calls total, all from various teams in the VHL. I had no idea that I would be such a hot prospect on the open market due to the work ethic issues I had this season. Apparently, a lot of teams think that they are just one player away. The former number one pick in the VHL draft let it be known prior to draft day that he would be exploring all his options come his first contract expiring. This did not hinder Riga from selecting him in the draft and winning the VHL Cup in his third season. As a champion, things change. Money sometimes becomes the goal rather than going to a competitive team. Will Kronos allow dollar signs to cloud his judgement? Quote My FA demands have been pretty simple and they don't revolve around money. I was able to hoist that cup at the end of last season, but I didn't feel like I earned it at all. I didn't work as hard as my other teammates and I think that has left a sour taste in my mouth. My career notes say I won a title, but I didn't earn it. Being a spoke on the wheel isn't my goal. I want to be the god damn wheel that is turning and taking us where we need to go. My effort declined last season and I plan on making that up this season by going out there and hockying to the best of my abilities. I'm still trying to decide for what team though. I've had team vying for a title approach me along with rebuilding teams that are offering me near or at max contracts. I've saved all my contract earning up to this point so more money is always a good thing, but I don't really know what I want yet. I guess I just want a team where I have the opportunity to prove myself again. No one wants to go down as the Jamarcus Russell or Michael Olowakandi of their sport. This season is all about redemption for me and I will be going where I think I have the best chance to make that happen. Money, competing, all of that shit doesn't matter to me. I want to bring value back to my name and draft class. Banackock and Toast 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/35598-claimedfa-is-crazy/ Share on other sites

Hopefully wherever you go you get to be "the whole damn wheel" 597 words Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/35598-claimedfa-is-crazy/#findComment-391065 Share on other sites
