Saskatoon has had a bleak history. Only three GMs have ever won either a Jack Reilly trophy or a Founders' Cup. Joey Kendrick, a well versed GM who was the team's first GM, before they were even Saskatoon, came back to the team in S40 and took home the Jack Reilly trophy. 4 seasons later, Brody Hodgson was able to bring the Wild to their first Founders' Cup championship in 16 seasons, but wasn't able to get a top GM for his troubles. Then, of course, there's Jack Reilly himself, the master VHLM GM, who in 11 seasons won 3 championships and 4 top GM trophies. Today, however, GM Bogdan Podarok has been written into the history books, after leading Saskatoon to a Founders' cup champions him and winning the top GM award.

Podarok was ecstatic about the award. "I really tried my hardest to lead us to a championship," Podarok said to reporters, "I was able to build through the draft and make a full roster, and I'm pretty happy about that."

about the championship: "The people of Saskatoon really deserved this award. They've been starved for a championship for too long, and we were able to deliver."

about next season: "losing DeGrath was huge, I'm not going to lie. Without our top goalie I don't know how we will fare. But I'm confident that we can make moves and sign some solid players. I've been working on some trades already and I have a plan in place to bring a goalie to Saskatoon. I don't know if it's possible, but I'm going to try my hardest to get us another championship!"
