Unassisted's Off-Season Decision Pays Off

After heading to Free Agency for the second year in a row Unassisted and the STZ Player Agency had yet another decision to make - where would he play in S52.

The choices were laid out but not all equal. He could go back to the Calgary Wranglers where he had previously signed with 3 other top end free agents to for a super team. However, that proved to be a failure, and the cap room meant one player had to leave, and in all honesty Unassisted wasn't happy being a secondary scorer on the team.

The option to play for the league leading Seattle Bears was very enticing. They had made the necessary steps to compete in S52 and were really just missing that final piece to put them over the top - Unassisted could have been that piece. However, the team wasn't structured to sustain success through his entire career.

The only other pitch came from the Cologne Express. Unassisted could have joined the European Conference and automatically guaranteed himself a playoff spot, top five in scoring stats, and a lucrative Netflix login. However, this was a short term vision, that didn't seem all that appealing as it wasn't a team structured for a cup win or any in the near future.

So Unassisted went against the grain and made a decision that was heavily unpopular and pretty unexpected. Unassisted signed with the New York Americans. Not only did he sign for the year, but the rest f his career. He saw the potential for growth in the organization not only in S52 but for the next three seasons after. Not only did he finish second in league scoring but earned his first Continental Cup.

He is now set up with a young contending team that have utilized him as an elite scorer. While it's always a gamble going to Free Agency, and sometimes it can be overwhelming with the different options, sometimes it really works out.
