Sullvino 289
Calder O'Callahan Signs with Las Vegas August 7, 2017 The one-time Minnesota High-School standout has officially signed his first professional contract with the Las Vegas Aces of the VHLM. The VHLM, a developmental league for the VHL, consists of five teams and many of them had expressed interest in signing O’Callahan. After weighing his options, he felt like Vegas team fit him the most and gave him the best opportunity to win. “It was a difficult decision. All of the teams that I talked to had interesting and unique pitches for how they were going to use me and where they saw me fitting in moving forward. I think the conversations I had with the Vegas GM were fantastic and he had a true vision for me on that team. I have met a few of the players so far and they all have been extremely welcoming. With this decision behind me, my focus right now is to continue to develop as a player.” O’Callahan is a dynamic center with tremendous skating and playmaking ability. The former winner of the “Minnesota Mr. Hockey” award, given to the most outstanding senior high school hockey player in the state, will definitely open some eyes around the VHLM.
