In a surprise turn of events, Shawn Brodeur has been pretty good at the VHL level after vastly under performing at the VHLM level for his two seasons with the Las Vegas Aces. However, it did result in 2 trips to the final with one Founders Cup win so it wasn't all doom and gloom in Vegas for Brodeur. It seems the root of the problems were late night partying in the VHLM where Brodeur didn't really care as much as he was supposed to. However, after reaching the VHL with the Cologne Express, Brodeur is out to prove that he is better than his 7th overall draft position. So far the Express have a record of 7-12-3 for 16 points which is ok almost .500 but when you look closer at that roster you realize it is only Chase Keller (34 points) and Brodeur on the team and these two have basically willed the Express to a playoff spot. Brodeur has a save percentage of .925 while facing 823 shots which is the most in the VHL. He has amazingly gotten 2 shutouts and has been named a star in all but 1 of his teams wins. So far so good for Brodeur in his career
