Stockholm going too easy on rookies?

Should Stockholm be playing rookies more?

Stockholm, SWEDEN - The woes of the Stockholm Vikings this season have been well documented. Still looking for their 2nd win of the season, more than halfway through, they are well on their way to a historically awful season. There has never been a team that has failed to manage 10 points in a single season, nor has a team failed to win at least 3 games (editor's note: these are made up numbers).

While the team is having an abysmal season this year, they are fairly well set up for the future with potential stars Stopko, Boner and Johnsson already in the fold, as well as at least 2 lottery tickets this coming off-season. However, fans are starting to wonder if management is too lenient on their youngsters in regards to ice-time. Team Leader Mats Johnsson is skating an average of 26:54 per night, 90 seconds more than partner Boner. To put that into context, 58 players in the VHL have averaged more time on ice per game than Johnsson. Clearly the Vikings roster is peppered with low-quality players, but is it possible that the team would have more than 5 points if they were to ice Boner and Johnsson, their 2 most talented skaters, an extra 3-5 minutes a night?

With three more active rookies come GM in next season we will be looking good soon. It’s just the start of a rebuild. But I do need to add more time to the game plan for the rookies
