Let's just start where we left off. In case I didn't say it enough times in the previous message, and because people say it takes something being heard 5 times to truly stick, change and different are good - but DIVERSITY is better. I've heard it countless times, and I don't think I need to get into it too heavily, but so many people have said they want more to do. This site is a 4 trick pony with only so much you can do on here. This limits the fuck out of activity all throughout the boards to the point that only game nights and threads are important. What other radical things can we bring about that would help-the-fuck-out around here.

 

Player Store Updates

TLO maybe said it best - the league sets you up to fight depreciations and spend all your hard earned saved money all in a season or two. Throughout the prior parts of your career, you barely touched it because you'd rather now. Furthering onto the parts where we should change the cap and contract structure - WHILE also allowing us to have small carry over - AND have ways of earning some extra coin, I think adding stuff to buy in the player store would be absolutely HUGE. Not only does it add diversity (potentially between sim leagues), but also adds a lot of options for us to improve our players, keeps us trying to do something and lets the eyes see more than 6 things (or whatever. I only ever buy like 2 things).

 

1. WEEKLY Trainings - 100k or 250 K for 1 TPE is an idea. It's only one TPE and wouldn't greatly affect inflation at all. Or, you could always go the 3 for 500k and 5 for 1M route like EVERY other league does.

 

2. EQUIPMENT - Pretty sure every other league has it too. Allow us to buy some shit. If you dislike the idea, make it expensive - IDK. I just see this as a good way to have people happy. 

 

3. Sitting in the bank PERK - Maybe have it like a true bank account. IF you don't touch your money and keep stockpiling it, it grows with interest (each season is goes up 25%, EXAMPLE).

 

4. Straight up TPE purchase packs? - 5 for 2M, 15 for 5.5M and 25 for 10M

 

SIG STORES

I wanted to throw this idea up there, but it goes hand in hand and deserves its own topic at the same time. If we bring about cash, this would allow members to sell extra sigs. Know what I think will happen? People have a greater motivation to create sigs, but also be active and shit. They wanna make money, show off their shit AND they can use this same graphic for their weekly 6 TPE submission. Why not make money and do both? With the sig community pumping, it wouldn't hurt the league.

 

COULD also do sig AUCTIONS, seller could set a cap or let it go as high as they want. 24-72 HR auctions?

 

VHL Stocks

Let's have a stock game going. This opens jobs for people around the league and also gets people involved, active and spending money and time in certain sections of the forum. You could have it for teams, players or random bullshit maybe? I'd say the first two more so. Teams doing good, people buy stocks, sell etc. Try and find as much realism as possible. Have maximum's you can make a season for this and have it heavily regulated stocks. Nothing crazy. REALISM.

 

BUY TEAMS, SAVE MONEY. BE AN OWNER! PART ONE

Maybe let relocation be a thing and allow us to stockpile our money. Have the starting amount for franchises set at 300-500 Mill - all carry over and you know people will be saving for something. This would also fuck stores and inflate the fuck out of everything, but whatever. People feel rich so they think they are. Thus? Love for VHL. I love the idea of being a team owner and I think it should play a lot like BE A GM. You're able to decided anything and everything - you control the GM and every aspect of the league. These are things we could have in them:

 

1. Hiring and Firing GM's.

The league can step in at any matter and rules would have to be set. You can't have a new GM everyday and there would be restrictions. Say you can only have 2 GM's for one season (which would be in the case of fire and hire). I like the fact of realism and that the NHL franchise will fire you if you fail, suck, don't succeed or are inactive etc. You're fired if you aren't doing a job or aren't doing it to the owners standards.

 

A. I think this would bring a lot more effort, attention and shit from the GM's. I'd also say GM pay could become a thing. If we bring about money, which clearly we would be with this move, but let them choose between TPE payment of saying 2 a week or Money at whatever they decided to sign at (would be accounted for under team cap - or a secondary "management fund" which the league could cap.

 

2. FINANCES - TURN THEM ON

Here's an idea - turn them on. Let teams have a surplus of 100 mill if they're kicking ass. If they're shit, losing, rebuilding or don't have fans at the game - have them tank finances and be in debt 20 million. Have rules, if teams have deficits of more than say 100,000,000 the team relocates OR the owner is forced to sell at 75% selling rate) and next GM has 5 years to reduce the deficit or they are forced into relocation.

 

Let these finances do the following:

 

1. Pay for rebranding, new jerseys or team graphics.

2. Maybe pay bonuses to players.

3. Add diversity to the league - have a REAL finance section.

4. Obviously control the owner and teams fate for forced selling/relocation.

 

Obviously, if a team sucks 24/7, there's isn't 100% relocation rate. Be realistic and look at the shit NHL.

 

3. Finances - PART 2

This option, we'll further along with Be a GAMe, of franchise on NHL. Why not let us build and design arenas? there has to be  a way in the sim, if not a website where we can do this and then have the info on our forums under each teams sections?

 

Allow us to control the name - which you'd have to pay for the next time to change it again. Let us choose the style etc.

 

This would bring in ARENA UPGRADES. Maybe start the arena out at 12,000 and with the money the team produces through tickets and other shit, they can purchase upgrades. Say 2,500 people at a time to max out at 20,000 or whatever idk. Maybe let us buy a mascot ETC. 

 

Furthering onto stock ideas,  This would affect the teams stocks, or purchasing worth for other people looking to become owners.

I actually think a "Owner" would be a very cool thing to have and also somehow implementing finances would be a cool thing. I also want the player store to be better but at the same time don't because I like hoarding my money so i can be good while still an old man
