HellBillyXIII 61
This week in the VHLM was a busy one in which we saw 2 huge trades occur. The top 2 teams in the standings both moved draft picks in order to improve their rosters and chances of winning the league championship. These noves are not too uncommon but always add a nice wrinkle to break up the monotony of the regular season. While it is much too soon to declare winners and losers it looks like all the teams involved in these trades come out looking good. The 1st trade to occur was between the 1st place Yukon Rush and the struggling Saskatoon Wild. The Wild looked to make the playoffs but were definitely the 4th team in a 3 team race to the championship. The Yukon Rush traded their 1st and 2nd round picks for some offensive help. Despite leading the league in goals the Rush already dress an elite group of defenseman and had room only to improve on offense. The Rush received LW Veran Dragomir and C John Stronk. Dragomir is currently the highest TPE player in the league and is poised to break out on the Rush roster before he is most likely drafted 1st overall in next seasons VHL draft. In the 2nd trade the 2nd place Las Vegas Aces added a couple pieces to help them try and close the gap between them and the Rush. Again we saw the Saskatoon Wild shedding players and stock piling picks. Las Vegas acquired Dragon McDragin and Otto Axelson in exchange for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks. These are bold moves all the way around. Saskatoon will have one impressive roster in coming years, but only time will tell who gets the most out of these trades and who brings home the championship. Gooningitup 1,290
Im fairly happy to have 8 picks in the top 15. If we have even half the draft we had this year of actives team should be stacked with returnees and new blood Spade18 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/47812-big-trades-in-the-vhlm/#findComment-509462 Share on other sites
