rampagemaster 9
Player Info: Name: Ryan Skinner Age: 20 Shoots: Right Height: 6'3" Weight: 195 Hometown: Montreal, Quebec Jersey Number: 53 Team: Undrafted Short Bio: Skinner is a natural scorer with elite potential. He grew up near Montreal, Quebec, where he started to play hockey at the age of 6. He played hockey whenever he could. His love for the game led him to the QMJHL, where he was drafted 1st overall at the age of 16 by the Halifax Moosehead. His prolific scoring ability awarded him with various individual trophies, but no Memorial Cup win. Once eligible for the NHL draft, he was selected by the Boston Bruins with the 1st pick in the draft. Having grown up a Montreal Canadiens fan, he refused to sign with the Bruins, and chose to return to the QMJHL and continue playing with the Moosehead, wanting to bring them a Memorial Cup. This created a huge buzz in the hockey community, as he became the first #1 overall draft pick to refuse to sign for his team and opt for free agency instead. He aims to model his game after Evgeni Malkin. Scouting Report: Pros: -Skinner's shot is his best asset. He has the ability to fire a hard, accurate shot with eyes for the net from anywhere on the ice. -His smooth stickhandling facilitates entry into the offensive zone, and allows him to create space between himself and his defender(s). -He has untapped natural hockey IQ. He sometimes seems to see plays before they happen, and positions himself in excellent areas to score or set up plays. However, this skill must be refined and progress if he wants to take his play to the next level. -He is a smooth, effortless skater, but could certainly stand to add more speed to his strides. Cons: -Skinner's willingness to play offense sometimes causes him to be a defensive liability. He sometimes fails to cover his man simply due underdeveloped defensive awareness. -He tends to shy away from the physical side of the game, despite his large frame. -Skinner is a very passionate player. However, this passion can sometimes result in him taking bad penalties and allowing his emotions to get the best of him. Historically, this has either resulted in him playing the best hockey of his life, or the very worst. -Could stand to add more muscle to his frame Personality Traits: -Relentless worker, never late to a practice, always trying to get better. -Loves the fans of whatever team he is playing for, always gets along with teammates. -Passionate -Plays well under pressure NHL Comparable: - Ilya Kovalchuk - Vladimir Tarasenko - Nathan MacKinnon Beaviss and Tyler 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/48411-ryan-skinner-rookie-profile-12/ Share on other sites
