After what has felt like an eternity spent so far this season sitting on the bench as the team's backup goaltender, it was today confirmed by the Oslo Storm that rookie goalie Arvid Aamo has been given the nod to take up the mantle of being the team's starter between the pipes for the remainder of the season. After being selected by the Storm in last season's VHLM Dispersal Draft, the (more or less) hometown kid had stepped into a situation where it appeared that he would be the clear choice as the team's main option in net, but due to reasons which haven't exactly been clear, the job was given to Emil Woods, a goalie who has been on the roster for quite a while without showing much improvement or progression but hadn't done that bad a job at holding down the role so far this season. Maybe this adequate performance was what made the team slow to give Aamo a chance, but after a consultation today followed up by a press conference it was confirmed that Aamo would be taking the reigns going forward. An exciting opportunity has arrived for the young goaltender to prove his worth to the team after being its backup for so long, it is up to him to now live up to his first impression.
