jRuutu 2,478
Season 61 rolling on nicely - we have already played around 42-45 games! Seems like only yesterday it was 25, but time goes by fast when you are having fun. I got something important I want to talk about today, it´s doping and or juicing in VHLM. Unfortunately I feel like it´s something the league should look into even more closely now when we are getting close to playoff hockey. I know it´s against the good manners and spirit of being professional to talk about these things in public this openly, but I don´t really believe in those things, so going to let whatever I have on my mind out and hopefully something positive comes out of it. See what I did there? Doping - positive outcome? Nice. When I look at the standings, I see Yukon Rush first with amazing point and win totals. Yukon has 79 points and 39 wins from 45 games. Second best in the league has 54 points and 26 wins, so we right away got quite solid candidate for extra testing. As you can maybe guess, Yukon Rush and their players are high on individual rankings in goals, points etc. Twinger has 52 goals in 45 games, Kovalev second with 45 - both play for Yukon. Twinger is first in assists as well, he has 53 assists. Yukon Rush player Kurtutecis, who is the third best goal scorer - he has 50 assists. Vega, Jokinen and Kovalev round up the Top-5 in assists category, all three have over 40 assists and to make things even more disgusting, Pilgrim has 40 assists as well, he is ranked 7th in assists, so we have six players from Yukon in Top-7 for assists and the leagues three best goal scorers all play for Yukon. What about goaltending then? Well, Johnny Havenk Carison is the only goalie with over 90 save percentage, his goals against average rating is almost on it´s own league with 2.04 goals against per game, second best is 2.90. These are just with a quick look, but I think I made my point - Yukon Rush has been dominating the league as a team, but also as individuals. There is also another reason why I decided to voice my concerns and doubts about Yukon, the moment came in Oslo vs Yukon game about a week ago, Yukon won 4-1, but that was not it. Some point in the second period I was standing behind Johnny´s net when the puck flew into the stands, so a small break naturally followed. As I was standing behind the net, I took a zip out of Carson´s bottle and oh boy - it was not just normal water. Something extra on it for sure, rest of the game I felt like I could play at least another 40 minutes, could almost fly out there. After the game was over, I went to the hotel to get some sleep before we head out of town on the next morning, but I could not, at the time I did not think much about it, since I sometimes do have trouble sleeping in hotels, but couple days later it hit me - it was the ´water´! Now, I want to make one thing clear, I´m not saying everybody in Yukon Rush is for sure adding special jam on their morning porridge, but I´d say solid 90% of the roster is. I bet if you check the river and woods behind Yukon´s practice arena, you will find some insane looking fish and animals in there due to all the juicing that the players do, when they use the bathrooms - the stuff gets into the river with whatever comes out from the practice arenas pipes. Not only dangerous to the players themselves when they juice up, but also dangerous to the environment.
