Robert Renner - VHLM draft prospect [1/2]

First graphic and I kinda suck so it's basic bitch, but here's my VHLM draft prospect, looking fine in his USNTDP fishbowl.

Review: Contrary to your view, I think the simplicity actually helps it. I like the drop behind the lettering, and the effect on the whole thing works pretty well. The only gripe that I have is that the player (is that Mittlestadt?) doesn't pop out enough from the background, something that is probably mostly due to him wearing white and having the graphic behind him be blue and red, but there's a couple different effects you could have used to make him stand out a little more.

Jake Wise, actually, I think. Just grabbed the first photo that fit the look I wanted.

 

And yeah, I'll need to see what I can do. What programs are people using? Mine won't do layers for the free version and I'm cheap.

I personally pirated Photoshop *sirens in the distance* but if you don't feel like doing that I think GIMP is free, same with Paint.NET, and they both have some functions that could be useful.
