Cologne Empty their Locke....wait...make the Playoffs?

In a surprise twist to the season the Cologne Express have qualified for the postseason for the third straight season. Cologne eventually held off the Vasteras Iron Eagles and took their train ride into the playoffs. After dealing away most of the depth on their squad throughout the season, the Express were basically told a rebuild was in full swing. Unfortunately the only people that didn't get that memo was the players themselves. Cody Inko (VAS), Tony Stark (NYA), Lauris Prikulis (VAS), Reggie Dunlop (TOR) and Gregory Glass (SEA) all found new homes throughout the year. Kameron Taylor, David Collier, Malcom Spud and Evgeni Chekhov had different ideas on how they wanted to end the season.

The biggest shock or more so disappointment is the fact Vasteras missed the postseason. It looked for sure that the Iron Eagles would be battling the second place European team in the conference at the regular seasons end. Vasteras traded all their picks away to achieve, well not a whole lot and now they are stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Without any picks in the draft and prospects that would make good depth players in a rebuilding squad, they are hooped. The bigger question here is this: Is the Cologne Express franchise rebuilding or re-tooling?
