Alvaro Jokinen, hockey player and a Finnish man candy. Alvaro is a man who can do anything and everything, his teeth are white as snow and he can ice skate on asphalt. Last name Jokinen is a familiar name to many who have been following VHL, alleged brothers Diego and Fabio used to play in the league few years ago before retiring from the game of hockey. Alvaro is allegedly the cousin of Diego and Fabio, but no actual evidence have been provided, the trio does look a lot like each other, so easy to see why so many is thinking that they are related and maybe they are, just cant say for sure at this point.

Alvaro´s career towards VHL started in the VHLM. He joined Las Vegas as a free agent in middle of the season on season 59, managed to play 26 games in total with 1+21. Next in the schedule was the actual VHLM dispersal draft. Solid performances with Las Vegas made Alvaro a potential first round pick on many rankings, but for whatever reason, Jokinen got picked on the third round at 15th overall by the Ottawa Lynx.

It was a steal, first full season in VHLM was a success for Alvaro and for Ottawa. 85 games in total if you count regular and playoff games together: 16 + 58 = 74 points! The talented puck moving defender helped Ottawa reach the finals, but Saskatoon was better and took the cup home.

The loss in the finals was a tough pill to swallow, some kind of last chance to win situation with the roster they had at the time, few key players were moving up to the big show, so management in Ottawa started to focus in the future and did a trade with the Yukon Rush, Alvaro Jokinen was among the players who joined Yukon.

Moving to Yukon meant that in three seasons, Alvaro has represented three different teams! Something that many wont get to experience. The team in Yukon on S61 was a real powerhouse, nothing could come on their way as they kept dominating the regular season, Rush won 62 games out of 72 - nasty. Alvaro played in a big role, first pairing behind a high scoring offense and it showed on his statistics, 95 points in 72 games! In the playoffs the same continued, Yukon and the material they had was too much and they made their way to the finals, but there something went seriously wrong and the level we all got used to simply was not there. Yukon was not able to defeat the brave Oslo Storm team, Oslo won the cup in game five.

Once again Alvaro was on the losing end of a cup final, but he did not have too much time to worry about that, only few weeks later the news of Alvaro Jokinen moving to Davos Dynamo for season 62 was announced!

Rookie year in the big show has been a great one, Alvaro is playing on the second pairing in a good team with another rookie defender Jacob Smith, perhaps a interesting fact: Smith was part of the Oslo team that won the cup in VHLM on S61. So far in 56 regular season games Alvaro has scored 3+ 46! That total is 9th best among all defenders and 7th best rookie total.

Future is bright for Alvaro, if he is able to keep improving as a player like he has so far in all of the seasons, he is going to be among the top offensive defenders in the history of VHL.
