Ottawa Takes First WC Game Against Vegas

The playoffs are underway as the Season 63 VHL season has finally ended. In the VHLM the Ottawa Lynx and Las Vegas Aces find themselves in the first round Wildcard best of 3 series to see who will move on. Ottawa took the first game, a close 3-2 win that was a relatively even game. Vegas outshot Ottawa 32-31, but it was great goal-tending by Finn Davison and a clutch hat trick by the king of big games, Elias Dahlberg that pushed Ottawa ahead. Svoboda and Chance Matthews both finished the game with 2 assists as well for Ottawa, who will win a clutch game 1 on the road. In the 3 game WC series it's very important for teams to take advantage of home ice, especially on that first game. Now Vegas finds themselves on the ropes, despite having higher standings in the season, being only one game, on the road, away from elimination. We'll see what happens and if Ottawa can push themselves beyond the Wildcard and deeper into the playoffs.
