In a surprise upset, the Ottawa Lynx defeated the Las Vegas Aces 2-0 in the VHLM Wild Card round. Although points accumulated during the regular season don't always tell the whole story, many pundits following the VHLM playoffs could not call the wild card round anything other than a huge upset. The Lynx finished the regular season with 55 points (2nd worst in the league) while the Aces finished with 85 points. Although this was only one spot better in the standings than the Lynx, 30 points is a huge margin.

 

The Lynx have an even bigger challenge ahead of them now. The Yukon Rush finished the regular season with 104 points, the most in the VHLM. They boast both top end talent and depth. While the Lynx have a couple of top end players, they cannot match the depth featured by the Rush. It will take a miracle for the Lynx to make it to the next round, and quite honestly, it might be the biggest upset in modern VHLM history if it happens.

I was going easy on these mortals in the regular season, but now I am going full strength. Vegas wasn't ready, Yukon isn't ready, and whoever is in the finals with Ottawa won't be ready

It would be appropriate if it was Halifax, send @ShawnGlade out on a double finals loss
