Nethila Dissanayake is a RW who was born in Sri Lanka. He is the first ever Sri Lankan player to play  in the VHLM. He immigrated  to Toronto Canada when he was six and he soon loved hockey .He would always go to a hockey rink and play with his friends he was good at ice hockey too.He started to play in the OHL for 2 seasons with the Kichener Rangers until he got an injury when he was 24 and started playing again a different league. 20 games later he got called up to the VHLM…

                                                                    Scoring                                                                                                                                                                              Nethila Dissanayke is a very good goal scorer. His slap shot is one of a kind and he gets the most goals by it. He is also good at shooting accuracy. He can shoot the puck where he wants it to go. In fact he was the top goal scorer in the OHL for the 2 seasons. He played in the OHL. Lots of his coaches liked him for his goal scoring. He hopes  he will do the same in the VHLM and in the future for the VHL.

                                                                    Physically

Nethila is not afraid to throw his body around. He can body check and fight the strongest guys in hockey. But that sometimes means that he goes in the penalty box and he is big which gives him an advantage.  Even if it means he will get hurt, he will take one for the team and will not back out.

                                                                  Defence

Even though Nethila Dissanayake is a RW he is good at defense. If the other team has possession of the puck, he finds a way to block the shot and will do anything to stop the opposing team from scoring. He would literally just stand right in front of the player who is going to shot the puck to stop the opposing team from scoring

 

                                         Cons

                                        Skating

One of the things Nethila is bad at is skating. He is not very fast sometimes when he skates backwards. He falls down and gets very mad when he falls down when skating. But he is working on it and hopefully in the future he will get better and better with skating.

                                        Mentally

Every time when  Nethila has a bad game, he gets down on himself and sometimes he even punches himself or something else. Nethila always thinks about the bad things and never the good things which affects how he plays hockey and other things in his life. Nethila is trying to change and hopefully in the future he will think about the good things in life instead of the bad things in life.

                                         Puck Handling

Nethila sometimes has trouble puck handling sometimes when he puck handles he just gives it to the other team or when he does a trick with puck handling in it he has a hard time in sometimes but he is practicing . Dissanayake sounds like a pretty impressive player! I like that you got so specific about the types of shots that he likes to take, that was a really nice touch of personal flair. I also liked that you got creative with his mental con, and how Dissanayake will punch things in anger. That defensive aspect from a forward will certainly be a helpful tool for Saskatoon this season as well. Overall, a very well-written rookie profile.
