quik Bio:

David Harrison is a natural playmaker and a hard worker. While he did not grow up playing hockey, you would not be able to tell watching his high school career. If you didn’t know any better you would probably guess that he has been playing his whole life. Moving to New York is the best thing that could have happened to this kids career. We can only speculate how good he could have been if he had been playing his whole life. He looks as though he has a high ceiling. His past injury doesn't seem to be a persisting problem as it has not slowed him down. We have high hopes for this prospect, though he hasn’t been that impressive so far in the VHLM. He has racked up a lot of assists but only a few goals. Look for him to break out soon.

One Word:

If I had to describe him in one word it would be determined. Determined to be better, to be the best.

Player Quote:

“My dad always told me: The good don't stop till the good get better, and the better don't stop till the better get best.”

- David Harrison

Report:

PROS:

Playmaker: This kid makes impossible passes look easy. Some of these setups are so perfect, it's what VHL’ers dream of. Can really thread the needle.

quik: He’s not the fastest player out there but he will catch you off guard. He is what I like to call Deceptively fast, with very quik bursts of speed out of nowhere, unreal acceleration.

Works well with structure: You tell him what you want him to do, and he does it, nearly flawlessly. Easily adapts to whatever strategy you want to implement.

Good Teammate: While he does not like to fight or argue for himself, he will absolutely do it to defend a teammate he feels has been wronged.

Stays out of the box: Rarely commits penalties. Probably due to his lacking in physicality, but he does play the puck well.

CONS:

Goal Scoring is low: In high school he lead the league, but the VHLM is a different beast. His scoring so far has been a bit underwhelming.

A little too quiet:  Sometimes misses opportunities because teammates don't hear him calling for the puck. Doesn’t like arguing even when he is in the right. Avoids confrontation (unless he is defending a teammate).

Lacks Physicality: Possibly tied to his quiet nature, or maybe mentally scarred from his injury, he shies away from big hits. Also does not like to fight (unless he is defending a teammate).

Defense needs work: He has focused on being an offensive power house and has left this area of his game behind a bit. Would like to see him become a little more of a two way player.

Forechecking: Needs to be more aggressive when the puck is dumped into the offensive zone. Spends too much time waiting for the perfect opportunity instead of creating it himself.
