Starting as a forward in his early days one of Brendan's coaches quickly noticed his strong ability to backskate and pass. He moved the youngster to the Defense position where Brendan began to flourish as a player. Looking to continue his studies while pursue his dreams in hockey Brendan attended Florida Atlantic University where he earned the Captains position and led the team to multiple NCAA men's hockey championships but the team was never able to secure a championship title. After graduating Brendan moved on to play for the ECHL Solar Bears in Orlando, Florida where he continued to develop and succeed as a player. Winning multiple Defensemen of the year awards in the ECHL Brendan now looks to move on to bigger and brighter horizons in the VHL where he hopes to attract attention from teams coming into the league in the new expansion draft.  

 

"No one thought a kid from Florida would ever make it to the VHL. It's a testament to the work he's put in through the years. Let's hope he gets some GMs interested."

 

"It's been his dream to play in a major hockey league all his life. He put a lot of effort into the Owls and despite not winning a championship he sure has accumulated championship numbers. I have no doubt he will succeed in a league like the Virtual Hockey League."

Upsides

Checking: "This guy plays the body so well. He knows when to place the hit and when to play the puck." 

                   "I don't think I've ever seen this kid lay a hit that didn't end in the puck carrier on the ice. What a presence he can be."

 

Passing: "Brendan is always looking for the long pass trying to get a breakout going." 

                 "Man can he really sneak passes through the neutral zone. I can see him being a force on the powerplay with some of the breakouts he causes."

 

Defense: "Really a shutout player who shuts down the neutral zone. He always keeps himself between the attacker and isn't afraid to take a blocked shot to help the goalie."

               

Skating: "Able to keep up with forwards and get back quickly to shut down breakouts."

 

Fighting: "Definitely a physical player. He has no problem holding his own and getting down and dirty when the time arises."

 

     Downsides

 

Discipline: "While he usually avoids the sloppy penalty his temper tends to get the best of him. As a Defenseman he can really throw them in a fight but with his offensive skills hes a much greater asset on the ice"

 

Scoring: "Not the most accurate with his shots and depends mostly on his playmaking to help generate offense."

 

Puck Handling: "When it comes to out playing another player think again. Brendan has a tough time moving the puck on his stick and if caught tends to turn over the puck one on one."

Small detail, but for readability sake maybe add a picture in the header instead of the body.

 

Flesh out the stats a bit if you can. Tell us what direction he shoots, what position he plays, what side of the defensive zone he prefers in the stats section, etc etc etc

 

Great summary!

 

I really like your use of "upsides" and "downsides" here instead of pros and cons, it makes it seem like the scout is really looking at this player as a long term investement.

 

Maybe add a final summary at the end. Solid profile otherwise
