FakeJenton 24
Name: Boone JentonAge: 20Height: 6'3"Weight: 215 lbsPosition: DefenseNationality: United States The Michigan native has shown much promise as a top level defender in the World Junior's level, but now is putting his skills up to the ultimate test and joining the VHLM draft in the hopes of adding more accolades to his young, but promising, career. Strengths: Defensive IQ: Boone has proven himself as a reliable D-Man that has deemed him as crucial player in previous teams. Whether it's blocking shots or intercepting passes from opposing forwards crashing the zone, Boone is able to look one step ahead and position himself perfectly in able to make the play. This could play important for any teams looking to bolster their penalty kill lineup as he easily could be a plug-and-play into any scheme. Boone's type of intuition for the defensive aspect of the game is something that seemingly can't be taught and could set him apart from other prominent D-Men in the draft. Skating: Despite the large 6'3" frame Boone is sporting, he is fairly agile on the ice. Many times it looked as if he had gotten himself out of position while pinching the blue line to keep a puck in the zone, but with his respectable skating ability he would be able to reposition himself perfectly in order to stifle the opposing team's offensive push without ever missing a beat. Passing: As shown in his large assist numbers for previous teams, Boone's ability to get the puck to his teammates and set them up in scoring positions cannot be overlooked. His ability to seemingly look two steps ahead and predict the play before it happens plays huge in combination with the fact that his passes always seem to hit the tape of his teammates. This could play as a huge potential upside to his contribution to any team as he has found a way to make every other player on the ice with him that much more dangerous. Weaknesses: Stick Handling: Seemingly the largest hole in his game we noticed. There were many times when it would have been better for Boone to keep the puck and move down the ice, but instead we found him dishing it off to one of his teammates in inopportune times and stunting the development of any play that was forming. Whether this is lack of confidence or skill this could be detrimental especially when the game is on the line. Looking to see him develop this skill in time so he can become as much as an offensive threat as he is a defensive one. Discipline: Boone has a habit of letting the emotion of the game get to him. It is common for Boone to be the focus of other teams when it comes to jarring and prodding because of this and it has proven effective. He has found himself getting unnecessary reaction penalties and putting his team in poor positions because of it. Although he is young and this can be refined as he develops in the VHL it is something that potential GM's and head coaches should be aware of. Scoring: Looking at Boone's stat sheet and his game on the ice, it is easy to see that he is lacking some scoring ability. Many times when Boone could have taken advantage of his position with the puck he would instead pass it to a teammate and allow them to shoot. The few times he would take the shot it was hit or miss too. Rarely showing glimmers of scoring ability but ultimately missing his mark. HenrikZoiderberg 469
Review: Digging the formatting and overall look on this one. Your sig needs to be rehosted though! Add a summary sectino if you can to give the scout's feelings and impressions of the player. Pretty solid overall, I don't have much else to say about this one.
