Lindberg was drafted in the fourth round by Ottawa, 41st overall and was part of a draft class for the Lynx that included four total defensemen taken. Lindberg came out of the Frolunda Development program over in Sweden and was one of the program’s top defenseman before declaring for the VHLM draft. He projects as an offensive-minded defenseman who can command the powerplay, he led his Frolunda development team in power play points this past season. Despite his stocky build, he can also skate very well and transition from defense to offense very smoothly. If he continues to develop, he can become a diamond in the rough for this Ottawa Lynx team on the blue line. Outlook for S66 The Lynx defense currently consists of players like first-round pick Brendan James Lawn and fifth-round pick Cody Parkey, both of which are talented defensemen and project to be on the team’s top pairing. Lindberg is expected to have a presence on the teams second defensive pairing next season, likely alongside Vilnis Balcers, who was a 6th round pick by Ottawa. However, the defensive makeup could all change if the Lynx end up signing star prospect Ambrose Stark to a S66 contract, rumors have suggested the Lynx are fully in the mix.
