Vasteras’ Offense Surging

It seems like only yesterday that there were complaints from fans about a lack of scoring in Vasteras.  Now, things seem to have turned around for the Iron Eagles.  The team has worked their way back to second in the European Conference and fourth in the VHL.  Eggly Bagelface has continued his incredible play in goal, as he sits in second in the league in save percentage and goals against average.  However, Bagelface and the Vasteras defense have been playing incredible all season.  What has changed recently is the team’s offense.  The dynamic duo of Keiji Toriyama and Willem Janssen has proved to be absolutely crucial to the team’s success.  Janssen and Toriyama, the team’s two top scorers, combine for 103 points on the season.  Toriyama, who centers the first line, has continued his breakout scoring from last year, and might even have the chance to break 100 points for the first time in his career.  Janssen, the team’s captain and one of the faces of the franchise, has had a career year so far – should he continue this pace, it will be his first season with over a point per game.  Can Vasteras’ top line continue their increased scoring pace?  Are Bagelface, Toriyama, and Janssen enough to carry the Iron Eagles to a playoff run?  Only time will tell.
