Through the ages, one animal has embodied everything that hockey stands for - physicality, toughness, foraging for grubs, and wallowing on the African savannah: the might Rhinoscerous.

Given that the indominable @diamond_ace has a predilection for the wonderful tank puppies, it stands to reason that in his new role as GM, he'd be the one to take his talents to North Carolina, enjoy some mustard-based barbeque, and building a team of chargers and hard-nosed players. They're masters of digging (as in for pucks) and adapting to their surroundings as neccesary. They're known to have padding to account for their phsyically-demanding lifestyle, and are universally loved.

Rhinos are a family-friendly animal, and could easily serve to help grow the game on the East Coast as generations of Rhinos fans bring their children, creating a cascade of fans for life. They exemplify social interaction, teamwork, and compassion for others.

Rhinos are also an essential part of any Boys Night Out. This could be the first step towards a series of Boys-based teams, such as The Vultures, The Lightning Bolts, and The Goblins.

Finally, let's not forget that hockey is for everyone. This could be another step towards including women in the VHL as the game expands. Two more teams does mean two more spots for players, after all.

In conclusion, for these reasons and more, the newest VHL team in this expansion era should be the Raleigh Rhinos. Bring the kids, bring your friends, bring everyone to the ice to shoot some pucks.

This won't be my team (location is pretty near finalized and logo we've been working on) but I appreciate the thought put into this, and the cute rhinos! Especially that first one where he's running down the path, not a care in the world. This is fantastic :)
