VHL Enters New Waters With Expansion

It's a new time for the league. And no I don't just mean because we are set to have yet another expansion, this time bringing two teams to the VHL. We've had expansions before. But what makes this expansion effort so different is one key thing. This is the most growth the VHL has ever had in any time in it's history. While we have had the VHLM go up and down with expansion efforts the most the VHL ever got to before was 10 teams. Even then the league could barely sustain it. Yet now, only two seasons after bringing Malmo into the league and going back to ten teams, we find ourselves on the cusp of a 12 team VHL. 

 

It's hard to put into exact words how proud...yet...odd it is to see the VHL expand to such heights to be honest. As someone who has been here for the country mile, seen site moves, downages, bans, unbans, you name it, one thing has always remained a constant and that was the VHL being something that we felt attracted a more niche audience, specifically in comparison to other sim leagues like ours. Whether it was our roster sizes, lack of realism, the European Conference effect, you name it just felt like we had lots of things working against us. While credit can be thrown around across the board and the results of the growth are certainly not attributed to any few people, @Beaviss and @Will I think probably share the burden of most credit for the current state of the league. There is no way we would be able to sustain 12 teams without the work done by the recruitment crew and the work on the portal. So cheers to those guys and let's get excited for the VHL to enter uncharted territory in Season 68, 12 bloody teams.
