Jeff Downey Continues Consistent Play

Vancouver, British Columbia – Defenseman Jeff Downey has continued along on his consistent play that he has been displaying for much of the season. He hasn’t been overly flashy in anything unlike his compatriot Lance Flowers who has quickly turned into an offensive dynamo but has been putting up solid offensive numbers while also contributing on the defensive end with shot blocks and hits.

As it currently stands Downey 3 goals and 9 assists in 35 games which places him at 10th on the team for points. He also has 49 hits which is good for sixth on the Wolves as well as 48 shot blocks which puts him in a tie for third on the team. When asked about his play of late Downey had the following to say:

‘I feel that my play has been more than acceptable so far. Although I have heard some criticisms that I am not living up to my supposed offensive potential I think that will come with time and I have no doubt if I continue to grind in the practice facility that I will be able to put up some more points going forward. The team is winning and that is all that matter.’
