NotAVHLM-GM 1,858 Posted October 15, 2019 Share Posted October 15, 2019 Robert Sharpe for Hall of Fame A lot has been told in the past 13 years about Robert Sharpe. The first ever draft pick of the Victory Hockey league already was one that many people did not expect, but the pick even became more notorious when he received a TPE earning ban for using point tasks that were already used in a different league. He could still play, but when a league is just starting out it’s impossible to climb back to an even level of your opponents. We are now in Season 68 and people still have not forgotten about Sharpe. There were many occasions even today where similar or worse events have been done, but none of them received a punishment as harsh as this one. Even this season the usage of earlier point tasks or even work of others have occurred, but a punishment like Sharpe? Nope, we have not seen this. While the on ice performance always stay behind the others and this lead to an early retirement of Sharpe, I do believe he deserves a spot in the VHL Hall of Fame. While players like Scotty Campbell are remembered due to all the records set, Sharpe is one of those players that are an important part of the history of the VHL and therefor would deserve a place in the history books.
