eaglesfan036 4,598
S20 Davos Dynamo In case you live under a rock and haven't heard, your boy Gritty was traded to the HC Davos Dynamo this season, a foolish move that will surely haunt Beaviss for decades to come. Now that I am on Davos, I obviously wish for the Dynamo to win the cup. To bring us good luck, I will study how the Dynamo won the cup in S20, and see if we can learn anything from it. In Season 20, Davos ended the regular season in first place in the European Conference and the entire VHL with 116 points. There was a team named Thunder in last place that season that i have no idea who they were. Looking at their regular season stats, some guy named Patrick Bergqvist led the team with 144 points, 114 of which were assists! In goal was Daisuke Kanou, who somehow accrued 21 penalty minutes! I guess the key to Davos success was a lot of goalie fights that season? Or does STHS have goalies get a penalty for playing the puck outside of the rectangle behind the net? On that note, does the VHL play on NHL style arenas or International style? In the 1st round of the playoffs, Davos narrowly won a close playoff series, defeating the Riga Reign 4-3. Game 7 was a 6-1 domination, despite overall shots being even (32-30). Riga's goalie Ma'a Nonu completely sucked, saving only 9 of 13 shots before being Riga decided to pull the @Beaviss strategy and play their backup goalie in the playoffs. The powerplay told the story of this game, as Davos was 5 for 5 on the Powerplay, completely overpowering Riga's porous penalty kill. This means all Davos has to do is score every power play we get and it should be an easy road to the cup (if the playoffs ever get simmed). The finals were once again a close contest, as Davos defeated Toronto 4-3 to take home the cup. In game 7, Davos was actually severely outshot 48-23, but still found a way to pull out a 3-2 victory. Davos powerplay remained lethal, scoring 2 out of 4 times. Davos goalie Daisuke Kanou had an outstanding performance, saving 46 of 48 shots and earning the first star. Some goon named Voittu Jannula was ejected from the game for a hitting from behind penalty. For all of my accounting and finance friends out there, S20 was a different time when the VHL was a public corporation that posted their financial numbers quarterly. In case you are worried about the Dynamo's attendance and income, you can read their financial information below. This is actually real if you look at the game thread here, this was kept track of for some reason. bagelbitesisbae 71
Review: I feel like you did an excellent job in grabbing the reader's attention. The first sentence of it was really funny and I'm sure nobody took offense. I just feel like your whole media spot was pretty casual (which I liked). I like how you gave us past statistics that were really interesting.
