Kristopher McDagg "Where I Want to Go"

VHLM Daily - S69 VHL Draft Special

Reporter - Jakub Kubb

With the S69 draft approaching, Kristopher McDagg is ranked at 28 as of 10/22/19. McDagg would have liked better, saying he doesn't drop or rise, but he is happy to even be drafted. McDagg is proud to have gotten a 50 point season as a 19 year old in the minors. The young power forward has been looking into New York to play there. He has good chemistry with a couple of the guys on there, and he just honestly feels they are a good team. McDagg has a role model, a Swedish power forward by the name of Peter Forsberg. McDagg had this to say in an interview about the draft on 10/19/19,

"Um, you know it's a tough league to play in. You gotta keep your head in the game, which sometimes I struggle with. I am hoping with a few years of development in the minors, I will be VHL ready. I am very excited for the draft because I really want to see my friends from Houston in New York. I hope New York has noticed me and if they have a pick around my draft ranking, they pick me. If not New York, then I'll probably like to head to Calgary. Either would be great for me. I am hoping I go to either of those teams and becoming an Elite forward before my retirement."

Everyone at the interview were stunned with a second choice as Calgary, as for people were expecting somewhere like Prague. Kris does like winning, but he also likes to be on a rebuilding team so he can be the hero, like he always said in his younger years. McDagg is a 19 year old power forward LW, as you know, but he is a super solid defensive forward, and a solid checker. His scoring isn't that bad, either. He had a well balanced season this year in Saskatoon. Peter Forsberg has seen Kris play back in Houston, not in person of course. Forsberg had this to say about McDagg last year,

"So this kid in Houston shows potential, right place, right time. Just the kid isn't doing that hot point wise, and I hope he picks up the pace next year."

It seems that when McDagg is on a winning team, he doesn't perform. On a struggling team, he gets a descent amount of points. Kris just wants to let the good and bad teams to know that this Good vs Bad teams affect his draft position, and will adapt soon to any locker room. Oh, and another thing, McDagg wants a non-toxic locker room, otherwise he will no doubt refuse to play and demand a trade. That is one of McDagg's weaknesses. So be aware of your players, and make sure to get them to either behave, trade them, or trade McDagg (or even not draft him).

That was all we have for now on VHLM Daily, stay tuned for more on McDagg!
