Oskar Lagesson is a defenseman who was late in declaring for the Season 68 VHLM Dispersal Draft and thus, he was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Marlins. Oskar suited up for 56 of the Marlins' 72 regular season games in Season 68, scoring 4 goals and 28 assists for 32 points with a +16 plus/minus rating. He added 60 penalty minutes, 111 body checks and 51 shot blocks. San Diego was eliminated in the opening round of the Season 68 VHLM Playoffs by the Las Vegas Aces in 6 games and Oskar posted 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, a -5 plus/minus rating, 6 penalty minutes, 15 body checks and 6 shot blocks in that series. Lagesson was drafted in the Season 69 VHLM Dispersal Draft by the Mexico City Kings with the 6th overall selection as well as 21st overall in the Season 69 VHL Entry Draft by the Moscow Menace. Moscow subsequently assigned him to Mexico City for the season, where he has been a staple on the blue line for the Kings. In 23 games played thus far this season, Oskar has scored 8 goals and 20 assists for 28 points with a +13 plus/minus rating. He has added 44 penalty minutes, 77 body checks and 29 shot blocks, putting him on pace for 25 goals, 63 assists, 88 points, a +41 plus/minus rating, 138 penalty minutes, 241 body checks and 91 shot blocks.

Positives:
+ Scoring: Defensemen usually are not one of the most dangerous weapons on your team as far as being a threat to score goals. That is not the case as far as Oskar Lagesson goes. He has a rocket of a shot from the blue line that is not only hard, but very accurate. Every time that he steps onto the ice and gains puck control in the attacking zone, he is a real threat to score a goal and that makes him a big asset to the powerplay unit as well.
+ Skating: The ability to skate effectively at a high rate of speed with a quick acceleration rate is a strength that is a very effective tool for any player and is a skill that cannot be taught. Lagesson is the owner of this strength, who has a set of wheels that is among elite in the VHLM. Often times, you will see him take the puck from behind his own net and rush up the ice on an end to end rush that creates a scoring chance or the red light being lit.
+Puck Handling: Oskar is very good at protecting the puck while skating up ice on a rush with his exceptional speed and has the ability to make some slick moves to make his way around defenders from the opposing team. He stays calm and cool while handling the puck and this leads to high quality scoring chances for his team.

Negatives:
- Strength: Most defensemen are strong in the corners and dirty areas of the ice, while battling for puck possession but this is one of the areas of Lagesson's game that needs improvement. He is also susceptible to being knocked off the puck quite easily and that can lead to scoring chances against. Before making the jump to Moscow in the VHL, we will need to see Oskar become much stronger.
- Passing: The best of the best defenseman are very effective passers who make crisp, tape to tape passes to teammates and can lead the rush up ice with a great breakout pass to exit the defending zone as well as making a great pass to enter the attacking zone. This is not the case for Oskar Lagesson who is often off target with his passes and has a tendency to throw it up the middle, leading to a gift for the opposing team in the defending zone or the opposing team heading the other way on a odd-man rush from the attacking zone.
- Checking: Checking is an important attribute for blueliners to have in their toolbox of strengths. At this point in his career, Oskar's body checks are not all that effective and opponents can bounce off and keep going on the attack. This is something that will need to be addressed in Lagesson's game before he makes the jump to the VHL.

Review:

Nice looking RP! Looks good and professional. Clear separation of each attribute you're highlighting, colour coordination, and all the necessary stats are there. Those pros and some good pros to have! :)

Good luck with the career, and nicely written RP.

Approved.
