Guy LeGrande @Steve is no longer a New York American. The S68 Dustin Funk Trophy winner (most improved player) could not build on his breakout season and the team and player decided to mutually part ways earlier today. In a trade that on the outside appears to leave New York worse off, the team maintains positivity. "We've been playing good as a group lately. Obviously Guy was a part of that, but hockey is not a one player sport. You always talk about the 'next guy up' and for us it's here and now.", said American's winger Owen Nolan.

"He was a big piece on the ice and a big voice in the room. Many of us heard the rumours before today and I think we all understood. The whole team was frustrated with the start we had and that's just the type of guy Guy is; he expects the best of himself.", Nolan continued.

So what's next for New York? "Same as before: D.C and Calgary. We need to get some distance on them". And Seattle? "No more bad blood than usual. I guess I finally have the chance to fight Guy on the ice now though", Nolan joked.

Seattle and New York face off next against each other in game 275.
