As per usual another very close game between the Marlins and the Hounds. The Hounds finished ahead of the Marlins by a score of 3-2 by way of a shootout.

The first period was a chess match as two teams tried to avoid making the first mistake. The Hounds peppered the Marlins with 13 shots while limiting the Marlins chances to 3. At the end of one period the score remain tied.

The second period is when the tides began to shift in the favour of the Marlins. San Diego opened the scoring with a a goal from Aldis Auzins as he takes a beautiful pass from Roadkill Steve for the easy tap in. Just over 2 minutes later Nate Wright answers right back for the Hounds. A great passing play from Will Clarke up to Kris Rice for the 2 on 1 and Rice sent it over to Wright and he finished it off from there. Before the period would end Vladimir Shaposhnikov would bury another goal for the Marlins as they retake the lead.

7 minutes into the third the Hounds tie the game at 2. Will Clarke with the booming slap shot from the point makes it way past the goaltender. Wright and Rice moving that puck around opened Clarke up for the wide open shot.  The game would remain tied after 3 and we are headed to overtime.

Both teams traded chances in overtime

but neither team was able to capitalize on their chances pushing this game to the shootout. No goals were scored until the 5th round when Nick Kirkpatrick of the Marlins gives the Marlins the lead. It was up to Jimothy Frost to keep the Hounds in the game and he does just that. The shootout continued past into the 7th round. Cameron Eastwood was stones by Spyro and it was up to Finnegan MacBurn to end it for the Hounds. He comes down the right side and fakes the shot causing the goaltender to move enough for Macburn to shelf it and give the Hounds the thrilling shootout victory over the Marlins!
