After a flaming hot start to the season, the phantoms have cooled off immensely and are no longer in the contention for the playoffs. The team ran out of gas midway through the year and went on a 7 game losing streak that doomed their season. But they’ve certainly taking strides to show their on the right path. The team has a number of players playing their role well, but who is the true unsung hero of this Prague team?

Team leading scorers of this team have been Erik Draven and Alex Pearson. The number one centre and left wing have been dominant for Prague this season, especially Pearson who was looking like a flop after a subpar rookie season, but the former 30th (!) overall pick has shown flashes of brilliance this season and hopes to continue that trend. The captain of Prague, Erik Draven has been money in the bank for the phantoms, giving it 110% every night and never taking a night off. They wouldn’t really be fair picks for unsung hero’s because Prague fans everywhere havnt stopped talking about them.

Forwards like Don Draper, Blake Laughton and Zeno Miniti we’re expect to be better then they are, but they’ve still be decent depth players for Prague. They don’t really fit the Category of unsung hero.

On defence they have 2 future Blueliner starts in first overall pick Cinnamon block who has had a tremendous rookie season and should compete for ROTY. WSJ has also been a huge part of the blue line even though his offensive numbers have taken a hit this season. These 2 are known as top defencemen, but there’s someone else in that locker room that work a hard day in day out, is a great team presence but never seems to get any credit.

Ofcourse I’m talking about Seabass Perrin.

When Perrin was taken 17th overall in the draft by Prague many experts were shocked, said it was a waste of a draft pick and that Perrin, Who had an alright season with Yukon wasn’t going to amount to anything special. Those people have been dead wrong.

Perrin had a terrific rookie season, 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points as a rookie defensive defender is a pretty spectacular feat. This season his offensive game hasn’t been where it was last year, but his consistent effort night in night out has earned him the spot in Prague top defence pairing. He has risen to the challenges of being a top pairing defencemen with ease and shows no sign of slowing down. If he continues his growth he will absolutely be a steal at 17th overall in the draft. His locker room presences is felt immensely by his teammates and he’s one of the most dedicated leaders in this team.

Perrin has been very solid in Prague, but has received little media coverage for his efforts. But his teammates have certainly notice it. He’s a bit of a party animal but nonetheless is arguably one of the best young defenders in the league. While he may not blow you away with his offensive totals, it’s the other areas of this game that make him priceless to the Phantoms.

Thats why Seabass Perrin is Prague’s unsung hero.
