Where did that come from?

Quebec City, QC -- After a massively disappointing regular season offensively for Bears winger Karsten Olsen, which precipitated a loss in interest in practicing, Bears fans weren't expecting much from the fifth-year veteran come playoff time. After all, the Bears barely snuck into the playoffs, relying on a last day win against the Americans to do so. With the Quebec City dynasty looking for one last hurrah, it was all but assured that Seattle, and Olsen by extension, would fail once again.

But a funny thing happened on our way to a Legion-Meute Finals: Karsten Olsen's hard work actually started to be worth something. First, the winger posted one goal and two assists in a 1st Star performance in Game 1. Then, through the series' first 6 games, he was tied with center Ethan Osbourne for the most points in the league.

And then Game 7 happened. You could tell from the very beginning that Olsen wanted the win. And I mean the very beginning. Look at this play-by-play:

0:01 of 1st period - Ethan Osborne wins face-off versus Wesley Kellinger in neutral zone.
0:16 of 1st period - Shot by Karsten Olsen.
0:16 of 1st period - Deflect By Ethan Osborne.
0:16 of 1st period - Shot Misses the Net.
0:18 of 1st period - Shot by Karsten Olsen.
0:18 of 1st period - Deflect By Ethan Osborne.
0:18 of 1st period - Stopped by Tuomas Tukio with a rebound.
0:20 of 1st period - Shot by Karsten Olsen.
0:20 of 1st period - Goal by Karsten Olsen - Bears : 1 - Meute : 0

With the Bears now taking on the Legion in the North American Conference finals, Olsen is feeling more rejuvenated than he has in perhaps two seasons in the league.

"It's hard to get consistently beat down and still come up empty," Olsen said after the game. "But this here, this feels good. And I'm hoping it's the start of a nice trend." Edited by CowboyinAmerica
