Censored Stupidity

Well look who it is. It's me Robbie you tard you. That word "Tard" can be taken in many ways, which takes me to this article. The censorship that the league now has brought down on its members. Am I the only person that this bothers? like seriously. Am I just that person who breaks all the rules, so that when I am censored it seems harsh? Maybe I should stop writing controversial things, and they would stop telling me "He you can't say that anymore"

 

I mean sure I can bend to the will of the league and "fall inline" Sure I can become a mindless drone and not have a proper opinion. Or should I say sensor my opinion so it does not offend someone. Oh no, don't want that. Cannot and will not offend people because everyone these days are little babies and everything they don't like offends them.

 

What exactly is my point here? Well here listen to this example. Buddy this past week go offended because I told him maybe film was not right for him. He was lazy as shit and just stood around watching people work. I told him maybe this wasn't the industry for him and sent him home. Well later in the day, I find out that he complained to the production because he was offended by me telling him maybe this wasn't for him. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? if you are a lazy sack of shit you should be happy I was nice about it and didn't say to your face that you are a lazy sack of living shit. 

 

Same day, I went to Starbucks and this lady in front of me was taking a year to order a drink. I nicely told her "Excuse me, I have to get back to work can I go ahead of you since you don't know what you want. I don't have time to wait for you to ask everyone about their opinions" She literally went through all the options and asked if it was good and so on. Well she did not like me asking me to jump ahead of her. She called me sexist, rude and typical "one percent" I laughed and told her I was only trying to be nice about it, but I was in a hurry to get back to set. She told me that me trying to get in front of her, is me thinking I am more important then her because I am a male and he is a female. Also furthermore me working in film, is spot on with her one percent remark. I old her none of that is true, I was just in a hurry. She asked how do I know if she was not in a hurry. So I pointed out the simple fact she was going through each item on the board and asking opinions proves she is not in a hurry. I was promptly asked to leave. For what? Seriously? WTF!

 

Back to the league, I know it's been a while since I posted a MS or anything where I got a warning. But these two things and a few others that would make this way too long, made me think while I sat here thinking about what to write. People in general get offended way too easy these days. To the point it seems like they are "offended" by things that they don't want to hear. Simple truths they try to hide from. So they put a stop to it by saying they are offended by it. That way, for that moment in time, they do not have to deal with it. Like in the VHL, they tell me I cannot say trigger words that trigger the morons. I cannot say them because they will get offended by it. Boo fucking hoo! Sorry, that if you cannot read simple words and not cry. That is on your parents for bringing up soft kids. Too fucking bad that you cannot read words and not get offended. Too fucking bad that you are too much of a fucking moron to ignore certain words, certain people (me) It's called skipping over words. It's called skimming. It's called growing a god damn pair of balls and not getting offended by words. Fuck you and your fucking parents. Your mom really should have swallowed if you really are going to go about life crying each time someone says something  that you don't like. This is a simulation league. Where people go to have fun and people like you are ruining it, and if you say that you only do it online, that's bullshit and you know it. Why would you get offended online but not in real life. If you feel like that you have to complain about things said on here. I'm pretty sure that you will get offended if I or a person like me would walk up to you in real life and tell you just how worthless you really are. 

 

I will end this rant with this. If you are one of those people that get offended easily, maybe you should look in the mirror and think about why is that. Why are you so sensitive? Maybe work on yourself, because we live in a free world. A free world where freedom of speech exists. But if you censor shit, it's really not freedom of speech now is it?

Also, agreed on the “if people don’t like it, it offends them” thing. That’s the case in a good chunk of scenarios.

Sorry it's like 10 days after posting this but I want to say this was actually a good read. Typically I completely disagree with your opinions but the way you presented stuff in here was pretty good.

 

In your first scenario I think you actually had really good intentions. The problem the other person probably had was the delivery. In a professional setting I think it's great to be honest with people. You should always watch out for coming off as hateful though. People have a hard time pulling out helpful information from things they interpret as hateful. If people are interpreting your words as hateful it probably isn't productive and it's just wasting even more time.

 

In your second scenario it sounds like the lady was just a bit of an asshole. They exist in all forms and you just have to learn to ignore them. Sometimes the battle isn't worth it. All in all that situation just blows.

 

The biggest thing I find here is that I don't think you have a problem with people being offended, you have a problem with people understanding your intent. Your first sentence is a great example. I think in most contexts these days that word isn't really offensive. It's weird that you have a problem with the leagues current situations because I don't think it was really about offending people. The words were banned because they demonize/segregate/ostracize a subset of people not because it offends them. 

 

Overall nice write up about being offended by the fact that you can't offend as many people in the league now.
