1. What kind of player would you describe yourself as?

 

An offensively driven defender for sure. But I've tried to put some TPE into my checking and strength as well, so hopefully not just a one trick pony. I've averaged over 2 shots blocked per game, so I think I've done my share on the defensive side as well as the offensive.

 

2. How is your season been so far?

 

It's gone great! My goal when I set out was to score 100+ points, and so far I've got 61 in just 27 games. Well on pace to meet my goal. Plus, we're one of the top teams in the league.

 

3. What kind of music do you listen to before the game?

 

No music. True Crime podcasts only.

 

4. What is the most important reason that you play hockey?

 

Love the game. Just have a real passion for it

 

5. What is your favorite sports quote?

6. Would you rather be 1st pick in VHL Draft or win VHLM championship?

 

Both would be a huge honour. I think the experience of going on a deep run in the playoffs and winning it all would be invalaubale. I care more about getting into a situation where I can do my best, than I do getting picked first

1) Not yet, I'm going to be earning as much as I can until the start of the next season to ensure I can step into a meaningful role.

2) Shots blocked. I'm really proud of my player's ability to score and also play in his own end. Defencemen need to be responsible on defence and I think my player is elite in both ends

3) Out of the important attributes, I'd have to say puck handling. I'd like to improve that by the next season. My goal is to be 80+ in each of the "big five" by then.

4) Defence and positioning. I think it allows my player to be in the right place at the right time and make all the right moves.

5) The top teams for sure. Minnesota is one that comes to mind. They're having a great season and have a terrific goalie.

6) Welfare  just kidding. I enjoy to write, so I like to be able to come up with a quick topic for a VHL.com article, or a media spot when I have the time.

Oh boy!

 

1) Mustard!! No actual phobias though, just hate mustard

2) Lots! Being at work on sunny days, people who are two faced, snow on weekends and not on days that it can get me out of work. Just a few of many.

3) Watching my daughter grow and the birth of my son/daughter/helicopter in August

4) My daughter not being a baby anymore :,(

5) Europe for sure. My GF and I had a trip planned before she got knocked up!!! Had to cancel, but we'll be there someday for sure! Paris, London, not sure where.

6) Big fan of movie theatre popcorn, You can have it delivered to your door with Skip the Dishes/Uber Eats. Game changer on movie night.

7) Big Pizza/Taco guy. I know that's typical, but it's true! Love me some tacos.

1) Fantastic. Thought of a lot of vaguely sexual pun names and settled on Hugh Jass. So far so good.

 

2) Win championships and have fun doing it!

 

3) Stickhandling. Jass is a whiz at keeping that puck on a string on the blue line. Too big for fastest skater. Aerodynamics and all.

 

4) Hardest shot. Check the PP goals. Launching bombs.

 

5) Gotta have a nice nap. Nothing too serious.

 

6) Forward. Love being apart of the offence.
