The San Diego Marlins have acquires goaltender Bruce Grimaldi from the Las Vegas Aces for a season 72 2nd round draft pick. The trade comes as the marlins were unable to beat Grimaldi in thier last matchup despite out shooting the Aces 48-25.  The marlins figure if you can't beat him, acquire him. Grimaldi should provide a significant boost to the marlins as they have addressed a major weakness with the trade. In 10 games this season Toppi Attakallio posted a dismal . 828 save percentage to go along with a 3.46 GAA. Although the marlins are second in goals for their pk ranks last in the league at a brutal 61.9%. They say that your goalie is your best penalty killer and marlins fans will hope that comes true with the addition of Grimaldi.

With the trade Grimaldi immediately became the starter for the marlins going 1-1 in his first two games as marlin. Grimaldi was an unlucky bounce away from a shutout in the win vs Yukon. The rush only managed to put up 4 shots but one crazy bounce off the boards left a rush player a simple tap in to break the shutout. The marlins hope that this acquisition will take the team to the next level. The marlins have a great forward group and have bolstered the blue line in the past week. They acquired King Kruul from Halifax as well as signing free agent Maximus De Feyter.
