DarkSpyro 939
The day Jimmy Spyro was called up for his VHL debut for the Wolves was more than one to remember and he certainly made an impact on the league with his impressive shutout and highlight reel saves. Since that point all eyes are being drawn towards this future Franchise caliber goaltender and not many expected him to live up to the hype being placed around him. To say just how well he performed in his first season at the VHL level: -he had 14 games played (starting in 13 of them) with a 9-3-1 winning record -amoung the top 3 goalies in save % with a .923 (tied with his starter Eagles for 3rd overall) -has the 2nd lowest Goals Against Average in the entire league with 2.12 (and played 3 more games than the only goalie who had a lower GAA) -racked up 2 shutouts (1st was debut, 2nd was the final game of the season) -collected 3 First Stars and 1 Second Star -had 1 assist (because points are still a thing for goalies) -far and away the top Rookie Goalie this season in every area If Jimmy Spyro isn’t at the very least in the conversation for Rookie of the Year with these insane looking stats then you should really start considering him a serious contender now as he ended up being one of the best goalies in the entire league this season. I feel due to the success of some of the rookie players that Spyro will probably be overlooked due to him being a goalie which would be a massive disappointment since I feel being a top goalie in the league as a rookie is much more of an impressive feat (not to mention way harder to pull off) than being a top skater as a rookie. To wrap this up Spyro managed to pull off one of the most impressive rookie seasons and is expected to keep up this ridiculous pace, and if he does he will be one of the (if not THE) top goaltender the VHL has ever seen.
